Job summary

SYSTRA India invites a seasoned Structural Engineer to lead the design of underground stations, cut-and-cover tunnels, and related structures from Bengaluru on-site.

You will apply STAAD.Pro and BIM-aware workflows, ensuring compliance with Indian and international codes while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. A Master’s degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience are preferred for this key role.

Qualifications

• M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering from a reputed institution.
• 5–10 years of design experience in underground stations and tunnels.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze structural designs for Underground stations, Cut & Cover tunnels, U ramps etc.
• Design retaining structures like Diaphragm walls, secant piles, contiguous piles etc.
• Perform detailed calculations for load distribution, stresses, and stability to ensure structural safety.
• Utilize STAAD.Pro and Wallap for structural modeling and analysis.
• Prepare structural drawings, reinforcement detailing, design calculations and technical reports.
• Ensure designs adhere to Indian and international codes and standards.
• Prepare BOQs and technical specifications for tendering.
• Ensure QA for drawings, reports, and calculation deliverables.
• Ensure adherence to design standards and timely delivery of high-quality output

In India, SYSTRA is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the fields of Metros, High Speed Rail, Railways, Roads, Buildings, Urban planning, and Water Infrastructure for public and private organizations.

Systra India's design business line is the leading design team for metros, highways, special bridges, Urban Planning and water projects in India. The team has designed over 900 kms of viaduct & Bridges along with 43 kms of tunnels and 82 underground stations, 345 Elevated & at-grade Stations, 19 Depots besides 300 plus stations being designed currently. The team has also completed 3,165 km of highways detail design projects and 22,506 km of design/ feasibility projects. The team has also worked on detailed design for Drainage and Utilities, design of WTP and STP etc.

We are also very proud to have designed the first monopile in India for the Mumbai Coastal Road project. We have the distinction of designing the fastest implemented metro project in the country with Lucknow and now have broken the record in Kanpur Metro. Missions/Main Duties

• Develop and analyze structural designs for Underground stations, Cut & Cover tunnels, U ramps etc.
• Design retaining structures like Diaphragm walls, secant piles, contiguous piles etc.
• Perform detailed calculations for load distribution, stresses, and stability to ensure structural safety.
• Utilize advanced software tools (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Wallap) for structural modeling and analysis.
• Prepare structural drawings, reinforcement detailing, design calculations and technical reports covering conceptual to detailed design phase, ensuring compliance with technical codes standards and specifications.
• Ensure designs adhere to Indian and international codes and standards.
• Prepare BOQs and technical specifications for tendering.
• Ensure quality assurance for drawings, reports, and calculation deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
• Ensure adherence to design standards and timely delivery of high-quality output

Profile/Skills

• M.E / M.Tech in Structural Engineering from a reputed institution.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in design of Underground structures, stations and cut & cover tunnels.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
• Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
• Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority
