Valeo India Private Limited seeks a Senior Discipline Engineer to drive gearbox design for EV applications. You will develop 3D models, 2D drawings, and design data packages while ensuring regulatory compliance and design-for-manufacture alignment.

Collaborate with integration teams to ensure system-level compatibility, apply GD&T and stack-up analyses, and support prototypes with CAD/PLM practices. This role emphasizes quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Formación

• 3–5 years of experience in gearbox design and development, preferably in automotive or EV sector.
• Hands-on experience in drivetrain concepts and gear calculation/design/simulation software.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and generate 3D models and 2D drawings for reducer/gearbox assemblies and components.
• Collaborate with motor and vehicle integration teams for system-level compatibility.
• Ensure gearbox designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
• Prepare technical data packages for design reviews and calculations in line with DFM casting & plastic requirements.
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and validate via stack‑up analysis.
• Provide design support for prototypes and testing/fixtures.
• Ensure quality deliverables before delivery.
• Contribute to efficiency by enabling fast or automated processes.
• Apply CAD methodologies and manage product definition in PLM.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards.

Transmission Design Responsibility

• Develop and generate 3D models and 2D engineering drawings for new and enhanced reducer/gearbox assemblies and components.
• Collaborate with motor and vehicle integration teams to ensure system-level compatibility.
• Ensure gearbox designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
• Assist in the preparation of technical data packages for design reviews and Calculations Design of components inline with DFM casting & Plastic requirements.
• Able to apply geometric functional & Tolerancing & validate the same by stackup analysis.
• Design support for proto samples & Testing/Process Fixtures.
• Ensure quality deliverables before delivery.
• Contribute to the efficiency improvement by producing fast or automated processes.
• Apply CAD methodologies and manage product definition file into PLM.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards.

Professional Experience

3-5 years of experience in gearbox design and development, preferably in the automotive or EV sector. Hands on experience in drivetrain com. Experience with gear calculation /design/simulation software is required. Good understanding of GD&T, Stack up analysis (3DCS added advantage).

Competence

• Strong understanding of gear design principles and tribology -SKILLED
• Knowledge of EV drivetrain architecture and integration challenges -SKILLED
• Effective communication and technical reporting-SKILLED
• Knowledge of Casting and Gear cutting processes -SKILLED
• Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools-(e.g., CATIA and MASTA /KISSSOFT/ ROMAX)-EXPERIENCED
