Job summary

Sapient is seeking an experienced QA tester in Pune with 4+ years of hands-on functional and manual testing. The role focuses on capital-markets testing, including equities and fixed income, and requires strong API testing skills using REST/SOAP, Postman, or curl.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on functional/manual testing in capital-markets domain.
• Capital-markets domain knowledge: testing Equities and Fixed Income & understanding trading lifecycle.
• API testing: REST/SOAP, using Postman or curl.
• Strong test craft: planning, regression, estimation, defect lifecycle, and test metrics.
• Agile/Scrum: experience with sprint ceremonies.
• Communication, independence & stakeholder comfort: works with traders, developers, and stakeholders.
• Entry-level AI-for-STLC exposure: has used Claude, ChatGPT, or similar for test-case generation or defect analysis.
• SQL: write and run queries: SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY.
• Defect triage & root cause analysis: understand logs.
• Employment stability: no more than 1 company change in last 6 months; long-term commitment.

Job description

• Must Have 4+ years of hands-on functional / manual testing (capital-markets domain strongly preferred).
• Capital-markets domain knowledge hands-on testing of Equities and Fixed Income (Bonds, Bond Forwards, Futures, Swaps) & understanding of the trading lifecycle
• API testing understanding — comfortable with REST/SOAP contracts and request/response validation using tools like Postman or curl.
• Strong test craft — test planning, regression and progression testing, basic test estimation, hands-on defect lifecycle and test metrics.
• Agile/Scrum — working experience within sprint ceremonies and cadences.
• Communication, independence & stakeholder comfort — drives tasks to completion and works directly with traders, developers, and stakeholders.
• Entry-level AI-for-STLC exposure — has used Claude, ChatGPT, or similar for test-case generation or defect analysis (a learning mindset is acceptable).
• SQL (independent) — can write and run queries without help: SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY and basic joins.
• Defect triage & root cause analysis - person should understand how to do root cause analysis and have knowledge of understanding the logs.
• Employment stability — no more than 1 company change in the last 6 months; genuine long-term commitment on complex domain projects.
