Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum team in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver GenAI and data-driven applications. You will leverage Python, Pandas, and cloud services to build scalable solutions, collaborate across teams, and ensure robust DevOps practices including CI/CD and containerization.

You will work independently and with peers to meet deadlines, communicate complex concepts clearly, and help shape innovative health-tech capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years in software engineering.
• 5+ years of Python experience.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Pandas.
• GenAI and LLM experience.
• DevOps practices including CI/CD, Git, deployment automation.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes is desired.
• Proficiency in SQL and DBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Strong API design and third-party API integration.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Primary Responsibility:

• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering
• 5+ years of experience in Python programming
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Pandas
• Experience with GenAI, LLM
• Extensive experience with Python programming, including knowledge of Python frameworks such as Pandas
• Implementation experience of Gen AI, LLM based solutions and reasoning Models
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, version control (e.g., Git), and deployment automation
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is desired
• Hands-on experience in DevOps
• Proficiency is SQL and DBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Solid proficiency in SQL and database management systems (DBMS) like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Solid understanding of API design principles and experience in integrating third-party APIs
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and delivering results within deadlines
• Proven solid problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
