Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a senior enterprise architect to lead AI-powered, cloud-native solution delivery. You will shape strategy, set architecture standards, and drive platform engineering across Azure, Kubernetes, and IaC.

You will mentor engineers, steward DevSecOps practices, and collaborate with business and tech leaders to translate strategic objectives into scalable, secure solutions that impact health outcomes globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science or similar field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with architecture and leadership.
• Deep experience with Azure Public Cloud, Kubernetes, and IaC.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale CI/CD, DevSecOps, and platform engineering.
• Strong AI/ML knowledge including Generative AI, LLMs, and RAG frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence architecture decisions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and mentoring skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale AI-powered and cloud-native solutions
• Drive adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI/ML platforms, and automation capabilities across the organization
• Define technical strategy, architecture standards, and engineering best practices for scalable, secure, and resilient systems
• Architect and optimize solutions leveraging Azure Public Cloud services and modern platform engineering principles
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving software engineering, AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction through architecture reviews, innovation, and engineering excellence
• Drive operational excellence through automation, observability, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into technology solutions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science or similar field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated architecture and technical leadership responsibilities
• Deep experience with Azure Public Cloud, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale CI/CD, DevSecOps, and platform engineering solutions
• Solid expertise in AI/ML, Generative AI, Agentic AI, LLMs, RAG frameworks, and AI platform development
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence architecture decisions across multiple teams
• Solid communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills
