Job summary

Optum is part of UnitedHealth Group. We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer / Full Stack Developer to drive end-to-end development, from design to deployment, in a microservices-based stack.

You will work across Python, Angular, Java and Spring Boot, and contribute to performance tuning and cloud-ready solutions. The role demands strong collaboration, SDLC ownership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliant healthcare technology environment.

Qualifications

• B.Tech./MCA with 16+ years of formal education.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer or similar technical role.
• Hands-on Full Stack Engineer with micro-services architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes/Nomad, and Jenkins.
• Proficient in GenAI, Python, Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Git, RESTful APIs, Splunk, and MySQL.
• Strong design principles for scalable, maintainable applications.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to support QA, UAT and release phases via defect analysis and change maintenance.
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; quick learner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, with a solid focus on coding, testing, and debugging

Required Qualifications:

• B.Tech./MCA (16+ years of formal education)
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar technical role
• Hands-on experience as a Full Stack Engineer (FSE) with a solid understanding of micro-services Architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes/NoMad, and Jenkins
• Proficient in GenAI, Python, Angular, Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, Git, RESTful APIs, Splunk, and MySQL
• Solid grasp of core design principles for building scalable and maintainable applications
• Demonstrate solid analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrate ability to support QA, UAT and release phases of the project via defect analysis, change maintenance
• Proven to be an effective team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven fast learner with a passion for exploring new programming languages and emerging technologies
