Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain frontend applications using Next.js (TypeScript)
• Understand and interpret UI/UX designs created in Figma and convert them into responsive, production-ready user interfaces
• Build and architect backend services using NestJS with TypeScript
• Design and implement scalable REST APIs and backend business logic
• Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles in backend and data modeling
• Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
• Perform manual testing including test case writing and regression testing
• Implement automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests)
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage and retrieval
• Design and manage queue-based and asynchronous processing systems
• Use AWS Lambda for serverless workflows
• Work with AWS SQS and Apache-based queue systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.)
• Implement search and analytics using AWS OpenSearch
• Deploy, manage, and optimize applications on AWS EC2
• Integrate AI-powered features using Amazon Bedrock
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Follow clean coding practices and SOLID principles
• Review code, define engineering standards, and mentor team members

Backend Frameworks

• Strong experience with NestJS with TypeScript (Must Have)
• Deep understanding of Node.js backend architecture
• Experience building secure and scalable APIs
• Hands‑on experience applying DDD concepts

Testing & Quality

• Strong experience with manual testing
• Strong experience with automated testing
• Hands‑on experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development)
• Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI-based test execution

Databases

• SQL database experience is required. Any SQL database is acceptable, PostgreSQL preferred
• NoSQL database experience is required. Any NoSQL database is acceptable, MongoDB preferred
• Strong understanding of data modeling and query optimization
• Understanding of database sharding
• Understanding of time‑series databases
• Experience maintaining Database Schema up to 3NF

Queue & Messaging Systems

• Experience with AWS SQS
• Experience with Apache-based queue systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.)
• Strong understanding of asynchronous and event‑driven architectures

Cloud & AWS

• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services
• Experience with: AWS Lambda, AWS EC2, AWS SQS, AWS OpenSearch
• Understanding of cloud security, monitoring, and scalability

AI & Advanced Technologies

• Experience integrating AI services
• Amazon Bedrock experience required or strong exposure

Engineering & Design Principles

• Strong understanding and practical application of SOLID principles
• Experience designing modular, scalable systems
• Ability to take architectural decisions and justify trade‑offs

Team Leadership & Soft Skills

• Experience leading or mentoring a small development team
• Ability to plan work, distribute tasks, and track progress
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Clear communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• Strong ownership mindset with focus on quality and delivery timelines

Good to Have

• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines with automated testing
• Exposure to Docker or container‑based deployments
• Experience building admin panels or internal dashboards
• Experience working on eCommerce or SaaS platforms
• Exposure to other backend technologies like Golang (Preferred), Java, etc.
• Experience working on high‑scale distributed systems
