Job summary

Meril seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Vapi, Gujarat to own end-to-end development for Immersive Technologies’ next-generation knee replacement solutions. You will handle client applications and hardware/software integration, real-time data, debugging, verification and release.

Note that “Fullstack” here means the complete product application stack, not typical web development. The role adds desktop UI work with C#/C++/Qt and hands-on deployment across hardware systems.

Job Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer

Department: Immersive Technologies

Location: Vapi, Gujarat.

Reports To: Immersive Technologies Lead

Experience: 5–8 Years

Job Purpose:

To take hands-on technical ownership of application development, integration, verification, and release for Immersive Technologies' next-generation Total Knee Replacement solutions.

The position will focus on end-to-end product application engineering across client applications, hardware/software integration, real-time data handling, debugging, verification, and release. "Fullstack" in this role refers to the complete product application stack and does not refer to web technologies such as React, Node.js, or traditional web development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–8 years of professional software development experience with successfully shipped products.
• Strong professional experience in Android application development using Java/Kotlin.
• Experience developing multi-module Android applications.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, Gradle, Camera2 API, application lifecycle, threading, and device compatibility.
• Hands-on experience with Android NDK/JNI is required.
• Experience in desktop/workstation application development using C#, C++, Qt, or equivalent technologies.
• Minimum 5+ years of combined desktop application experience or approximately 3+ years of relevant desktop navigation/industrial UI experience is preferred.
• Experience integrating real-time data from hardware subsystems such as cameras, optical trackers, sensors, or navigation systems.
• Strong experience with Git and CI/build automation.
• Hands-on experience deploying software to physical devices and hardware systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and conducting code reviews.
• Experience in medical devices, surgical navigation, robotics, AR/VR/XR, industrial automation, computer vision, or real-time systems will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong proficiency in Java/Kotlin and Android application development.
• Strong understanding of multi-module Android architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Gradle, Android Studio, Camera2 API, lifecycle management, and device deployment.
• Good knowledge of Android NDK/JNI and native integration.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, and real-time data processing.
• Proficiency in at least one workstation/desktop development stack such as C#, C++, Qt, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of real-time hardware/software integration.
• Experience with computer-vision data, pose streams, optical tracking, or sensor data is preferred.
• Experience with OpenCV Android integration is preferred.
• Experience with OpenGL, AR overlays, or real-time rendering is preferred.
• Strong Git and CI/CD knowledge.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Good understanding of software architecture, modular design, interfaces, and state-machine workflows.
• Understanding of configuration management and release engineering.
• Strong attention to software reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong communication and technical mentoring skills.
• Ability to work effectively with software, hardware, algorithms, clinical, and product teams.
• Ability to work with physical devices and laboratory navigation systems rather than emulator-only environments.
