Job summary

thumpN is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to lead web and mobile experiences and set frontend architecture as the company expands geographically and into new categories.

You will own React and React Native development, translate product ideas into high-quality interfaces, and mentor junior frontend developers to uplift the team's technical capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years building web or mobile applications.
• Strong, production-grade JavaScript and/or TypeScript expertise.
• Deep, hands-on React experience, including performance and architecture decisions.
• Solid React Native experience, or a demonstrated ability to go deep in it quickly.
• Strong HTML, CSS, and responsive design expertise.
• Proven experience with REST APIs and asynchronous data patterns.

Role Purpose

This role exists to lead the charge on turning product and design ideas into fast, reliable, and delightful experiences across web and mobile. You'll be setting technical direction on the frontend as thumpN expands geographically and into new categories.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development:

• Lead feature development using React and React Native, owning the architecture decisions behind them
• Translate ambiguous product requirements and designs into responsive, reusable, high-quality interfaces, often defining the approach for others on the team to follow
• Build and evolve the reusable components and design systems used across the product
• Own API integration patterns and work closely with backend teams on contracts and performance
• Set the bar for handling edge cases and polishing product details

Cross-Platform Work:

• Own the consistency and quality of web and mobile experiences
• Drive optimization for different screen sizes, devices, and network conditions
• Champion performance, responsiveness, and accessibility as core engineering priorities, not afterthoughts

Collaboration:

• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to shape roadmap and technical approach
• Lead code reviews, raise the bar on testing, and drive releases
• Own quality end-to-end from development through launch, and mentor junior frontend developers

Required Qualifications

• 3-6 years building web or mobile applications

• Background in consumer products, marketplaces, or ticketing platforms
