Job description
Role Summary
As a Senior UI/UX Frontend Engineer, you will design and build high-quality, scalable, and user‑centric frontend applications and web experiences for digital products, including AI‑enabled and workflow‑oriented applications. This is a hands‑on frontend engineering role, not a design‑only role. You will be expected to bring deep expertise in React, Node.js, JavaScript / TypeScript, component architecture, API integration, state management, frontend performance, and responsive enterprise application development.
You will work closely with product managers, backend engineers, AI engineers, Team Leads, and architects to turn user and product requirements into high-quality application experiences that are intuitive, performant, and production‑ready. You should have strong awareness of user experience principles, but your primary value comes from building robust frontends, integrating them with APIs and services, and ensuring they perform well in enterprise environments.
This role is ideal for a senior frontend engineer who can own major UI modules, work across the full frontend lifecycle, contribute to design systems and reusable components, and raise engineering quality in the web layer of the product.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript / JavaScript, Node.js, and related web technologies.
Build responsive, scalable, and maintainable user interfaces for enterprise applications, workflow tools, dashboards, and AI‑enabled experiences.
Implement reusable UI components, frontend architecture patterns, and shared libraries that improve delivery speed and consistency across products.
Work closely with backend, integration, and AI engineering teams to integrate frontends with REST APIs, event‑driven services, authentication layers, and AI‑enabled backend capabilities.
Develop frontend experiences that support AI‑assisted workflows, conversational interfaces, confidence displays, agent / workflow transparency, and human‑in‑the‑loop interactions where needed.
Contribute to server‑side or API‑adjacent development using Node.js where frontend and backend coordination is required.
Optimize application performance, accessibility, state management, routing, rendering efficiency, and browser responsiveness.
Participate in design discussions, but primarily from the standpoint of frontend feasibility, interaction quality, implementation patterns, and maintainable component engineering.
Implement robust frontend testing practices including component testing, unit testing, integration testing, and release validation.
Work with DevOps and platform teams on frontend build pipelines, deployment models, environment configurations, and runtime diagnostics.
Troubleshoot production UI issues, improve reliability, and continuously enhance frontend performance and usability.
Mentor junior frontend engineers, contribute to code reviews, and promote strong engineering discipline in frontend development.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in frontend engineering, full‑stack web development, or modern application development, with strong hands‑on ownership of frontend implementation.
Deep expertise in React, modern JavaScript / TypeScript, component‑based application development, hooks, routing, and frontend state management.
Strong practical experience with Node.js, including backend‑for‑frontend patterns, API integration support, server‑side utilities, or broader full‑stack application delivery.
Proven experience building and shipping production‑grade web applications, including maintainable enterprise frontends, not just prototypes or visual mockups.
Strong understanding of frontend architecture, reusable component design, application structure, performance optimization, rendering efficiency, and maintainability.
Practical experience with tools and technologies such as React, Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, Redux / Context API, HTML5, CSS3, REST APIs, or equivalent modern web engineering platforms, as well as experience in Git, GitHub and Azure DevOps/Jira.
Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs, authentication / authorization mechanisms, enterprise backend services, workflow systems, and API‑driven application architectures.
Strong experience with frontend testing approaches and tools such as React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, Jest or equivalent testing frameworks.
Experience with authentication and enterprise frontend patterns involving OAuth2, SSO, token handling, role‑based access, and secure UI integration.
Familiarity with frontend deployment patterns, build pipelines, CI/CD, runtime diagnostics, telemetry, and production support for modern web applications.
Strong understanding of responsive implementation, accessibility expectations, browser compatibility, and enterprise‑grade UX quality from an engineering standpoint.
Ability to translate product requirements and UX intent into scalable frontend implementations with strong attention to usability, performance, and reliability.
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with backend engineers, AI engineers, product owners, architects, and Team Leads.
Strong SDLC ownership mindset, including design participation, implementation, testing, release support, troubleshooting, and continuous enhancement of frontend experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building frontend experiences for AI‑enabled applications, workflow‑heavy enterprise products, dashboards, portals, or conversational / assistive interfaces.
Familiarity with Node.js‑based backend integration patterns, backend‑for‑frontend architectures, and API composition for complex UIs.
Experience implementing interfaces that expose workflow transparency, system status, confidence indicators, human‑in‑the‑loop controls, or agent activity.
Familiarity with Azure Static Web Apps, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Front Door, or equivalent frontend hosting and integration platforms.
Experience working with design systems and collaborating with UX / product teams, while remaining primarily an engineering‑focused frontend developer.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards and enterprise‑grade UI quality expectations.
Experience working in a build‑own‑operate product environment where long‑term supportability, release quality, and continuous enhancement matter as much as initial development.
Familiarity with observability and performance tooling such as Application Insights, Azure Monitor, browser telemetry, New Relic, Datadog RUM, or equivalent.
