Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks a Fire Protection BIM Designer in India to support building services projects. You will draft and model fire protection systems, coordinate with engineers, and contribute to multi‑discipline BIM workflows across projects.

The role requires 5–10 years in Revit MEP and proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360, ProjectWise, and Dynamo. Overseas project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in Revit MEP 3D modeling.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, ProjectWise, Dynamo.
• Strong analytical capabilities and able to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Primary Purpose of Job

Contribute to the ongoing growth of STANTEC ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing technical expertise in the building sector, as part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering conceptual design, outline design, detailed design and construction support for buildings, water/ wastewater treatment projects across the STANTEC offices (UK, US, Middle East, Asia Pacific etc.). To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading‑edge programs and projects.

Support project managers from the region by providing technical support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC.

Responsibilities

• Daily Drafting/Modeling duties of fire protection for Building Services requirements. Day‑to‑day tasks include CAD/BIM work to produce complete and accurate drawings, printing and binding, and other CAD/BIM related assistance for the Project and Discipline Engineers.
• The designer works under the direct supervision of the Engineers/BIM coordinator and is responsible for all of the production and drafting tasks directly assigned to them by the Engineers/BIM coordinator.
• As a Fire Protection Designer, it should be expected that the duties will be flexible, providing drafting assistance for multiple projects within multiple disciplines as assigned.
• Work as a team member to coordinate design projects with professional engineers and other CAD/BIM technicians.
• Utilize customized tools, utilities, and scripts to automate work processes, improve BIM/CAD productivity and efficiency, and comply with the company BIM/CAD standards.
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns to Discipline Lead/Project Manager/Project Lead.
• Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline.
• Improve technical knowledge under the guidance of a designated, Senior BIM Modeller or Engineer.
• Proactively liaise with internal and external project team members to ensure any current information required for you to do your job is available to you.
• Manage your time and priorities daily such that time is used productively, efficiency is maximised, and challenging work goals are met. Develop a reputation for reliability and consistency.
• Attend project meetings and calls as required.
• Adhere to company QAQC process and BIM strategies.
• Complete and accept responsibility for all tasks commensurate with experience, capability and training.

Competencies

• The Candidate should be proficient in drafting and modeling works for Wet and Dry Fire protection system, sprinkler locations, FP pipe routing/sizing, fire pump room, fire control room drawings - enlarged plans sections/ elevation, BMS systems, schematic riser diagrams.
• Leading the BIM model coordination as required by the project standards.
• Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines, design changes and model challenges.
• Adhere to the 3D Execution Plan and 3D project workflow criteria.
• Preparation of Detailed Drawings (CAD, Revit, Navisworks) as per project requirements.
• Leading the BIM model coordination as required by the project standards.

Qualifications and skills

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in Revit MEP 3D modeling detail engineering building projects.
• Experience using associated discipline software especially AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, ProjectWise, Dynamo.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
