Cadence Accounting and Advisory Services LLP (Formerly FATPOS Hub LLP) seeks a candidate who can grow into a strong Financial Controller, capable of moving from transaction-level detail to management insights. You will improve processes, design controls, and build better reporting packs across multiple clients.

You will challenge existing methods, fix root causes, and reduce recurrence of problems, while developing KPIs and forecasting accuracy to enable strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Solid accounting foundation with ability to interpret numbers and identify missing information.

Responsibilities

• Take over a messy month-end process, stabilise it and redesign controls.
• Spot recurring issues and turn solutions into standard processes or automation.
• Rebuild management reporting to help clients run the business.
• Understand drivers behind forecasts rather than just extrapolating historic data.
• Incorporate operational data into forecasting where relevant.
• Identify missing data and improve underlying data collection.
• Review outputs and improve accuracy and capabilities of the team.
• Leverage AI and automation to remove repetitive work while retaining judgement and controls.
• Move between detailed accounting, process design, financial analysis and management discussions.

Financial Controller in the Making

We are looking for someone who can grow into a genuinely strong Financial Controller.

Accounting knowledge is the entry ticket. What matters more is your ability to understand why things are going wrong, fix them properly, and improve the way the work is done across multiple clients.

You wont just inherit our processes and execute them. We expect you to challenge them, improve them and help build better ones.

If you find the same problem three times, we dont want you to become faster at fixing it. We want you to work out why it keeps happening and change the process so it doesnt happen a fourth time.

You need to be comfortable moving from transaction-level detail all the way through to management information and operational decision-making. One day that might mean getting inside a broken reconciliation or month-end close. The next it might mean rebuilding a reporting pack, improving a forecast, identifying the right KPIs, or changing the underlying data being collected so management can make better decisions.

We don’t just want someone who can produce the numbers. We want someone who can understand what the numbers are saying, identify what information is missing, and improve the finance process around them.

What that looks like in practice

You might:

• take over a messy month-end process, stabilise it and redesign the controls so it stays fixed
• spot the same issue across several clients and turn the solution into a standard process, control or automation
• rebuild management reporting so it actually helps the client run the business
• understand the commercial drivers behind a forecast rather than simply extrapolating historic numbers
• bring pipeline, headcount, utilisation, recurring revenue or other operational data into forecasting where relevant
• identify that a business is collecting the wrong data, or not collecting enough, and help change the underlying process
• review work performed by others and improve both the output and the capability of the team
• use AI and automation to remove repetitive work while retaining appropriate judgement and controls
• move comfortably between detailed accounting work, process design, financial analysis and conversations with management
