Job summary

ABB in Bengaluru/Nelamangala region, India, seeks a DCS Automation Engineer to execute installation, service, maintenance, and commissioning of DCS systems for large hydro projects. You will deliver on-site and remote support, lead commissioning tasks, and ensure safety and quality on site.

Requirements include 3–8 years in DCS, strong process control & instrumentation knowledge, and willingness to travel Pan India (70–80%). Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation.

Main Stakeholder include Customers, Project Engineering, Design/Commissioning Teams, and Vendors.You will be mainly accountable for:Executed installation, service, maintenance and commissioning of DCS Automation Systems in the Hydro Power/Power industry, ensuring reliable performance across large‑scale projects (100+ MW and above).Delivered both on-site and remote support, including issue resolution and commissioning activities of medium to high complexity.Led project teams during major commissioning assignments, ensuring smooth execution, adherence to safety standards, and effective customer communication.Identified technical issues during customer interactions, performed root cause analysis, and recommended corrective and preventive actions to enhance system reliability.Ensured project readiness by preparing material lists, coordinating availability of parts, tools, and equipment, and supporting continuous improvement through documentation of best practices.Qualifications for the role:Experience of 3-8 years in DCS systems within the Hydro Power/Power industry.Solid foundation in process control and instrumentation, with experience handling large projects (100+ MW).Skilled in installation, service, maintenance and commissioning of DCS.Demonstrated ability to commissioning activities across Pan India (70-80% travel).Diploma & B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, or Instrumentation, with effective verbal and written communication skills.More about us:The Energy Industries Division serves a wide range of industrial sectors, including hydrocarbons, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation and water.
