Job summary

TalentAhead in India is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee field construction activities across disciplines including civil, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation. You will review drawings, coordinate with planning teams, ensure contract compliance and supervise safety and quality on site.

You will also review JHAs, method statements, lifting plans, and document inspections while coordinating with contractors for schedules and progress.

Qualifications

• Mandatory BE/BTech Civil / Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering.
• 7 years experience for Graduates, 10 years for Diploma in Oil & Gas or Chemicals.
• Graduate in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering in respective discipline.
• Proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review Issued for Construction drawings and seek clarifications as needed.
• Collaborate with Planning Engineer/Team to develop construction schedules.
• Understand contract requirements for the discipline.
• Assist in review/approval of Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan.
• Coordinate with contractors for detailed schedules and resource status.
• Review JHAs, method statements and lifting plan (if applicable).
• Supervise safety to maintain a safe workplace and inspect contractor activities.
• Inspect works stage-wise and document inspections per approved plan.
• Participate in site walk rounds and quality audits.
• Monitor front availability and progress, notify deficiencies via formal communications.
• Attend review meetings with Contractors; review/ certify interim and final measurements.
• Coordinate submission of As Built marks ups and review.

Role & responsibilities

• Review the Issued for Construction drawings. Request for clarifications, if required, as per established procedure of the project site
• Collaborate with the Planning Engineer/Team at project site for developing the construction schedule for the respective discipline
• Understand the requirements specified in the contract agreement of the contractors for respective discipline
• Assist in review/approval of the Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan of the contractors
• Collaborate with the contractors for development of the detailed construction schedule/review the construction schedule, resource status submitted by contractors
• Review JHAs, method statements and lifting plan (if applicable)
• Supervise for safety to maintain a safe workplace. Carry out inspections of activities performed by the contractors to confirm compliance to Field HSE Specification
• Carry out stage wise inspection of works performed by the contractor based on the approved quality plan and maintain necessary documentation for the inspections performed
• Participate in site walk rounds and quality audits
• Maintain status of front availability and monitor work progress as compared to the approved schedule and highlight deficiencies to the contractor through formal communications
• Participate in review meetings with Contractors, if required
• Review and certify the interim and final measurement records submitted by the contractors
• Coordinate with the Contractors for submission of As Built’ mark ups and review of the same

Preferred candidate profile

Job Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of quality control, safe ways of working, resource requirement, sequence of activities, and supervision of construction activities for the respective discipline. Aware of the requirements of various applicable standards (Indian Standards, ASME etc.) for the respective discipline

Industry Specific Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience for Graduate Engineers/10 years of experience for Diploma Engineers. Experience of working in Oil & Gas Sector and Chemicals

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Graduate in Engineering/Diploma in Engineering in respective discipline

HSE Capability: Knowledge of safe methods of execution of construction activities for the respective discipline

IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office

People Skills: Team Player, interpersonal skills

Other: Adaptable, open towards learning and development, person of integrity
