Job summary

Bunge India is seeking a Senior Executive - R&D in Rajpura, Punjab to drive dry premixes development, improve quality, cost and delivery while complying with food laws.

You will lead product and process development, conduct baking trials, engage with suppliers, and support customers with technical service.

Qualifications

• First class graduate in Food Technology or MSc from premier institution.
• Over 4 years of R&D experience in cake premixes or related food products.
• Knowledge of Indian food laws and standards (FSSAI, FPO, Codex).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and quality of Bunge products in line with food laws.
• Develop new products and optimize existing products for quality, cost and delivery.
• Conduct competition benchmarking and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with Application and Operations on new product development and cost reduction.
• Develop vendors for raw materials and packaging to improve delivery and reduce cost.
• Provide technical service through training and vendor development.
• Collaborate with large institutional accounts on dry premixes and baking aids to develop and improve products.

Role Purpose Statement B2B Ingredient portfolio is one of the strategic focus portfolio’s and a key growth driver for B2B business in India. To make Bunge India a leading player in this segment it is important to have world class innovation and constant improvements in products on a regular basis. This role is part of the dry category consisting of Dry premixes for cakes, cookies, biscuits, bread etc., baking aids and improvers, yeast etc. to develop best in class - new products and renovate existing products time to time for improved quality, cost, delivery and compete with legendary competitors having large experience in these segments.

Main Accountabilities

• Safety in Ingredient R&D function.
• Ensure safety and quality of Bunge products and in compliance to all food laws.
• Develop new products and optimize existing products on quality, application, cost and delivery.
• Carry out competition benchmarking time to time and come up with continuous improvement opportunities.
• Liase with Application, Operations etc. on new product development & delivery, cost reduction, operations etc.
• Actively pursue development of vendors for raw materials, packaging materials etc. for improved delivery & cost reduction.
• Provide technical service in terms of training to employees, vendor development etc.
• Work closely with large institutional key accounts on dry premixes & baking aids to develop new products, optimize existing products, improve production & quality etc. for them.

Hands on experience in operating pilot plants, commercial scale operations and conduct baking of premixes, bread, biscuit, cookies etc.

Good analytical testing skills.

Working knowledge of Indian Food Laws such as FSSAI, FPO and standards such as Codex

Basic knowledge of food safety, microbiology & process control aspects

Basic knowledge on functional and protective packaging

Education & Experience Minimum first class graduate in Food Technology (or) Masters in Science from a Premier Institution.

Above 4 years in R&D of Cake Premixes from reputed Food Industry.
