Job summary

V S International in Bihar invites applications for a maintenance engineer to oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and production equipment at our Bihar facility.

The role emphasizes HVAC/AHU systems, utilities supply, and engineering support for OSD manufacturing, with a strong focus on GMP documentation, compliance, and coordination with production, QA, and external vendors. Strong hands-on experience and meticulous record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSD pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to USFDA-regulated facilities is a plus.
• Hands-on maintenance of HVAC, utilities, and production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP documentation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for plant machinery.
• Monitor HVAC/AHU systems supporting manufacturing and controlled areas.
• Ensure uninterrupted utilities availability for production.
• Provide engineering support for maintenance and troubleshooting of OSD equipment.
• Coordinate asset qualification, requalification, and validation.
• Ensure activities comply with cGMP, GDP, ALCOA+ and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, logbooks, checklists, PM records, and equipment history.
• Monitor consumption of power, water, compressed air, and other utilities.
• Coordinate with external vendors for AMC, breakdown support, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, EHS, Stores for smooth operations.

Role & responsibilities

• Execute and monitor preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities for plant machinery, production equipment and engineering systems.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC/AHU systems supporting manufacturing and controlled areas.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of utilities to production and other plant operations.
• Provide engineering support for maintenance and troubleshooting of OSD manufacturing and packing equipments
• Coordinate equipment qualification, requalification and validation activities.
• Ensure engineering activities are carried out in compliance with cGMP, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), ALCOA+ principles and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, review and maintain engineering-related SOPs, logbooks, checklists, preventive maintenance records and equipment history records.
• Monitor consumption of power, water, compressed air and other utilities.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for AMC, breakdown support, maintenance and specialized engineering activities.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, EHS, Stores and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidates from OSD Pharmaceutical Formulation Manufacturing backgrounds will be preferred.
• Candidates having exposure to USFDA-approved / regulated pharmaceutical facilities will be an added advantage.
• Candidates should have hands-on experience in HVAC + Utilities + Production Equipment Maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical GMP documentation and compliance is essential.
