Job summary

Avaada Group is seeking an EHS/HSE professional to implement and monitor safety policies at project sites in India. You will lead risk assessments, audits, and training to foster a strong safety culture across construction, installation, and commissioning activities.

The role requires 1–5 years of relevant EHS experience and a safety diploma/certification. You will coordinate with contractors, ensure PPE compliance, report incidents, and maintain comprehensive EHS records.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of relevant EHS/HSE experience in solar/renewable energy, power, EPC, infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Diploma/degree/certification in Safety/EHS/HSE preferred; candidates from RLI/CLI or recognized safety institutes preferred.
  • Knowledge of EHS/HSE practices and statutory safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in HIRA, JSA, PTW, and SOP development and implementation.
  • Experience with incident reporting, investigation, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Ability to conduct site safety inspections and audits.
  • Awareness of PPE and safety equipment usage.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work at project/construction sites.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and EHS documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor EHS/HSE policies at project sites.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety rounds, and audits to identify unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure implementation of HIRA, JSA, PTW, SOPs, and safe work procedures.
  • Monitor safety during construction, electrical, mechanical, civil, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety requirements by employees and contractors.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and awareness programs.
  • Monitor safety requirements for work‑at‑height, electrical, lifting, and confined‑space activities.
  • Support incident/accident reporting, investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain site‑level EHS documentation, inspection reports, permits, checklists, and training records.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and drills.
  • Monitor contractor/subcontractor compliance with EHS standards and statutory requirements.
  • Report observations, near misses, incidents, and risks to Site/Regional EHS Head.
  • Follow up on corrective actions and promote a zero‑incident culture.

Job description

ROLE

  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety rounds, and workplace audits to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Ensure implementation of HIRA, JSA, PTW, SOPs, and safe work procedures.
  • Monitor safety compliance during construction, installation, electrical, mechanical, civil, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety requirements by employees and contractors.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and awareness programs for employees and workmen.
  • Monitor work‑at‑height, electrical safety, lifting & rigging, excavation, hot work, and confined‑space safety requirements.
  • Support incident/accident reporting, investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain site‑level EHS documentation, inspection reports, permits, checklists, training records, and MIS.
  • Conduct and coordinate emergency preparedness activities and mock drills.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with applicable EHS standards and statutory requirements.
  • Report safety observations, near misses, incidents, and critical risks to the Site/Regional EHS Head.
  • Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of identified safety gaps.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and zero‑incident mindset across the project site.
