Job summary

Avaada is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Draftsman to join its Engineering team for utility-scale Renewable Energy projects, focusing on Solar PV developments. You will produce accurate, construction-ready civil and structural drawings in collaboration with Design Engineering and Project teams.

Key tasks include layout development, MMS GA and pile drawings, RCC detailing, foundation and equipment layouts, civil infrastructure plans, and coordination with site teams to ensure timely

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of civil and structural drafting experience.
• Experience in Solar PV / Renewable energy projects preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop optimized Solar PV plant layouts with design inputs and site data.
• Prepare MMS GA, fabrication and detailed drawings including joints and base plates.
• Create RCC civil drawings for foundations, beams, slabs and stairs.
• Produce steel GA, connections, and anchor bolt details.
• Prepare foundation and equipment layouts for transformers and switchgear.
• Develop civil infrastructure drawings for roads, drainage, fencing and security facilities.
• Produce comprehensive construction drawings with sections and reinforcement detailing.
• Incorporate design calculations and engineering inputs into drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, survey, project and site teams to issue drawings timely.
• Maintain revision control and drawing documentation.
• Support BOQ quantities through drawing interpretation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Draftsman to join our Engineering team for the development of utility-scale Renewable Energy projects, primarily Solar PV projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed and construction-ready civil and structural drawings in coordination with Design Engineering and Project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare optimized Solar PV plant layouts incorporating engineering design inputs, land boundaries, topographical survey data, module configuration, site constraints and overall project requirements.
• Prepare detailed MMS table and pile layout drawings, including pile positioning, coordinates, numbering, spacing, alignment, pile foundation details and relevant sections, in accordance with approved engineering designs and site conditions.
• Prepare Module Mounting Structure (MMS) General Arrangement (GA), fabrication and detailed drawings, covering structural members, bracing systems, purlins, rafters, columns, connections, fasteners and other associated components.
• Prepare detailed RCC structural and civil drawings for renewable energy project buildings and facilities, including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, trenches and other structural elements for Main Control Room (MCR), HT Panel Room, SPR Room and associated buildings.
• Prepare structural steel GA, fabrication and detailed connection drawings, including member layouts, sections, base plates, anchor bolts, joints and fabrication/erection details.
• Prepare detailed foundation and equipment layout drawings for transformer foundations, AC Kiosk, ACCB, switchgear, inverter and other electrical equipment, incorporating equipment dimensions and engineering requirements.
• Develop detailed civil infrastructure drawings for internal and approach roads, drainage systems, culverts, cable crossings, fencing, gates, security facilities and other associated plant infrastructure.
• Prepare comprehensive construction drawings including plans, sections, elevations, reinforcement detailing, schedules, typical details and construction/fabrication details.
• Incorporate design calculations, engineering inputs and comments into drawings.
• Coordinate with Civil & Structural Engineers, Survey, Project, Construction and Site teams to resolve drawing-related technical requirements, site constraints and revisions, ensuring timely issuance of drawings.
• Review site conditions and incorporate field requirements such as topographical variations, slopes, nallahs, other site constraints into the drawings.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance of drawings with approved engineering designs, project specifications, applicable standards/codes and company drawing standards.
• Maintain drawing documentation and revision control, including drawing numbering, revision history, drawing registers, transmittals and record drawings/as-built documentation.
• Support preparation and verification of BOQ quantities through accurate interpretation and measurement of civil and structural drawings.

Qualification & Certification Required:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Civil & Structural drafting.
• Prior experience in Solar PV / Renewable Energy / Infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Good understanding of solar plant layouts, pile layouts and piling details, MMS structures, RCC detailing, structural steel detailing and civil infrastructure drawings.
• Ability to interpret structural/civil design calculations and convert engineering inputs into detailed drawings.
• Knowledge of PV Case, Civil 3D, QGIS/ArcGIS or similar engineering software will be an added advantage.
• Good coordination, communication and drawing management skills.
