Job summary

Charles Schwab India is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide a high-performing team in Hyderabad. The role focuses on architecture, scalable platform development, and AI-driven software delivery within a Fortune 500 company.

You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and partner with business units to deliver exceptional client experiences. Strong leadership, distributed systems expertise, and cloud proficiency are essential for success.

• BS Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams to deliver scalable, low-latency services seen in mission-critical platforms.
• Own and operate multiple instances of mission-critical services with reliability.
• Drive AI adoption across the SDLC, Copilot adoption, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, AI testing automation, and AI code review automation.
• Develop and document resourcing roadmaps, budgets, and schedules; ensure team engagement and career progression.
• Lead recruitment across the team and manage cross-functional collaboration to meet business goals.
• Identify gaps/risks early and establish mitigation plans; raise visibility with leadership.

What you have

Required Skills :-

• We are looking for a curious people leader with excellent leadership, technical, program management, and communication skills to guide the team through technology challenges while driving towards target architecture.
• BS Computer Science or related field.
• People Leader experience: 4+ years of software development management experience with at least 1 year focused on workflow technologies. This includes coaching and mentoring, working through complex problems, and working with our business partners to deliver an amazing experience for our clients.
• Strong developer background is a must. 10+ years of solid development experience in distributed platform Experience with Java and/or C# Java in a Linux/Windows data center environment. The ability to step in to drive a solution that your engineers can build upon. Experience building complex, highly scalable and low latency application. Ability to understand complex problems easily.
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a mission critical service.
• Experience using AI and driving AI across AI-assisted SDLC, Copilot adoption, Agentic workflows, Prompt engineering, AI testing automation, AI code review automation.
• Experience with Agile development methodology and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence Experience growing high performing engineering teams Good judgment and the ability to handle stressful situations.
• Broad knowledge of software engineering: languages, frameworks, techniques, industry trends, etc.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies - Pivotal Cloud Foundry and GCP, a plus

Preferred Skills :-

• Leading technical teams in delivering highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets/timelines while ensuring alignment to strategic technology vision.
• Drive AI adoption maturity across all aspects including AI-assisted Software Development Life Cycle using copilots, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, Spec Driven Development and AI Testing automation.
• Managing day-to-day activities and influence team members to leverage, follow and support agile software development practices; includes the following: Develop and document resourcing roadmaps, budgets and schedules Ensure team is properly engaged, aware of career milestones/path, aware of their role on the team and how it relates to others, lastly aware of their contributions to our overall goals Lead all recruiting activities across the team (create different avenues when necessary)
• Identify gaps/risks early and establish mitigation plans (both technically & with regards to resources) Increase the overall visibility of this team; celebrate/track accomplishments and build relationships with key leaders in other groups
• Continually strive for improvements in process, talent acquisition/retention, application time-to-market, and quality.
• Provide hands-on technical coding and mentoring when necessary (plus)
• Financial services industry experience is preferred.
