Job summary

Tejas Networks Ltd. is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Wireless-BBU team to contribute to LTE macro eNodeB, 5G NR gNodeB developments and RAN solutions in Bengaluru. You will work on real-time L1 software, algorithm design, and optimization on DSP/FPGA, with exposure to 4G/5G and ORAN concepts.

About Wireless-BBU Team:

Tejas wireless team has developed high-capacity LTE macro eNodeB, 5G NR gNodeB along with Radio Units as part of end-to-end integrated solutions to their customers. Our systems are already deployed in customers commercial network and engineers are working on to enhance the capacity and improve system level performance.

Tejas Networks has invested in Wireless product development since 2012 with a vision to create globally deployable telecom RAN solutions. Several of the key components developed by the Wireless R&D team have been installed and commissioned across three continents. We are an active partner for 5G in the Indian Ecosystem and have significantly contributed to Indias standardization efforts in 3GPP, through TSDSI. The wireless team has over 100 patents. As part of the wireless team, you will work on developing products for the next generation of wireless systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Senior Engineer is responsible for contributing across the product development lifecycle, delivering highquality software and system capabilities within established architectural and engineering frameworks. The role operates with significant technical autonomy, provides guidance and knowledge sharing to junior engineers, and supports system integration and optimization efforts.

• Participate across the full product development lifecycle including planning, requirement analysis, module/subsystem design, implementation, validation, verification, and field testing
• Analyze features and dependencies across subsystems and support phased and synchronized system deliveries
• Develop and deliver assigned solutions that meet defined quality, performance, and release objectives
• Execute and support system integration activities and collaborate with partner teams during user acceptance testing
• Identify, analyze, and resolve defects through structured debugging and rootcause analysis
• Contribute to performance tuning, stability improvement, and quality enhancements
• Maintain accurate and complete technical documentation as part of delivery
• Participate in reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build and apply telecom domain expertise across 4G, 5G, and 6G.
• Strengthen software engineering and design capabilities for assigned modules.
• Gain proficiency in production-grade development practices.
• Leverage AI effectively to improve productivity.

Mandatory skills:

• Candidate should possess hands on experience on Layer-1, algorithm design, implementation and optimization on DSP, ASSP Processors, FPGA platform
• Design, implement and test real-time L1 Baseband software for 5G-NR, LTE-A, O-RAN nodes on ARM CPU Cores and DSP cores
• Experience in L1 SW optimization for performance, memory utilization on real-time embedded DSP platform and ensure that design meets performance requirements.
• Should be specialized in system engineering aspects, design and evaluate complex algorithms in MATLAB/C Environment.
• Should have in depth knowledge of 3GPP layer 1 specifications & Algorithms for 4G /NB-IoT/5G, ORAN Split definitions, Conformance Test Criterions
• Candidates should have a deep understanding of various lab equipment such as - signal generators, signal and spectrum analyzers, channel emulators.
• Good understanding of wireless communication fundamentals and its application in design.

Desired skills:

• Familiar with any of these technologies OFDM, MIMO, Bea, MmformingMSE, Turbo/LDPC codes, Physical channels, CPRI/eCPRI interface.
• Should have work experience in eNodeB/gNodeB/UE L1 SW development. Familiar with any RAN Platform architecture, L1 Schedulers
• Good debugging skills, log analysis and solving Field issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 4 to 6 years’ experience from Telecommunication or Networking background.
• Education: B.Tech/BE (CSE/ECE/EEE/IS) or any other equivalent degree
• Candidate should have good coding skills in C/C++
