Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil/Transportation Design Engineer to lead highway design projects in India. You will work with Open Roads Designer, InfraWorks, and Navisworks on multi-national highway schemes, ensuring compliance with DMRB/AASHTO standards and delivering high-quality drawings and reports.

8+ years of design consulting experience is required. Join a global team delivering impactful, sustainable design solutions.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. in Civil engineering or MTech in Civil/Transportation.
• 8+ years of design consulting experience.
• Strong knowledge of DMRB/AASHTO codes.
• Proficient in Open Roads Designer; other tools are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of smaller/less complex tasks within highway design.
• Oversee end-to-end design and delivery of highway design tasks.
• Prepare final highway drawings at various project stages.
• Compute quantities and prepare design reports.
• Mentor team members and lead projects.
• Lead overseas projects in UK/US/CAN/EU/ME/AUS where applicable.

Role description

• Good understanding and Knowledge of international codes like DMRB, AASHTO, and Euro codes along with various other International Codal Practices and Standards, Design Standards of Local County Councils
• Highway Design experience using Open Roads Designer and good expertise in 3D modelling for proposals and Detail design projects.
• Roadway Design for various stages of Design-Build Projects – Detailed design of Roadway corridor, Detailed drawings, construction support drawings, Design Reviews, Project Management, and Design Management.
• Experience in MS Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Role accountabilities

• Responsible for managing technical aspects of smaller and/or less complex tasks or components of larger tasks, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health and safety objectives
• Responsible for end-to-end project design and delivery for Highway design-related tasks.
• Preparation / Finalization of various highway-related drawings at various stages of projects.
• Computation of quantities.
• Preparation of design reports.
• Ability to understand existing condition reports and surveys.
• Coaching and mentoring team members.
• Ability to lead and design projects.
• Should have handled a minimum of 1 Design projects-overseas preferably for the UK/US/CAN/EU/ME/AUS in the Infrastructure Business.
• Software: Navisworks, Infraworks, Open Roads
• Excellent Soft Skills related to People Management (desirable)
• Strong mentoring Skills – Ability to build teams (desirable)

Qualifications & Experience

• Education - Graduation - B.Tech/B.E. – Civil or Post Graduation - MTech – Civil/Transportation. Minimum 8+ years of experience in a Design Consulting Environment
• Strong understanding of DMRB/AASHTO codes
• Software – Open Roads Designer. All others like Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Infraworks and Navisworks would be added advantages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), including technical report writing.
• Organized and proactive (self-starter).
