Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Transport Planner with 5–8 years of experience to lead planning studies and transport modelling across India, including Gurugram and Bengaluru. The role requires expertise in VISUM VDM and SATURN and involves preparing data-driven reports for regional transport projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, liaise with local authorities, and contribute to planning reviews and technical presentations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Transport Planning/Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant transport planning and modelling experience.
• Strong proficiency in VISUM VDM and SATURN.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
• Chartered status (ICE/CIHT/TPS) preferred.

Job Description

• Manages complex planning studies, development applications and reviews.
• Reviews and processes complex comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning, annexations, site plans and plats.
• Conducts research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.
• Provides professional planning assistance to member communities on varied land use and transportation projects.
• Develops plans, studies and analyses on a regional basis.
• Works in regional program areas relating to natural/water resources planning, community development, hazard mitigation, coastal zone management, and others.
• Performs field inspections to gather data relevant to the development review process and/or to verify that development projects comply with approved plans.
• Conducts meetings and presents reports and other findings to staff with advisory boards and elected officials.
• Experience in SATURN/VISSIM VDM is must have.
• Familiarity with UK/US/ANZ/Middle East transport modelling guidance (e.g., NPPF, DfT Guidance, Local Plans).

• Strong proficiency in VISUM VDM / SATURN.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and writing report skills.
• Working toward chartered status (ICE / CIHT / TPS) preferred.
• Open for Bangalore & Gurugram.
