Job summary

Nordex SE in Chennai, India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive tower mechanical design, create design space models, and perform geometrical integration within the tower layout.

You will collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to analyze designs, support cross-functional integration, and identify synergies for part reuse while reducing complexity and cost. A proactive, extroverted, deadline-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong CAD/PLM tool knowledge (Creo/Windchill or NX/Teamcenter).
• Experience with large assemblies and configuration management.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and with suppliers.
• Self-starting, extroverted, deadline-focused and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Be a key driver in the mechanical design for the Tower.
• Define design space models for components and perform geometrical integration in tower layout.
• Analyze designs in collaboration with Nordex teams and external suppliers.
• Support other departments to integrate components in tower layout.
• Create layout design considering geometrical requirements from PM, Eng, Production, Logistics, Service and HSE.
• Identify synergies across projects to increase part reuse and reduce complexity and cost.
• Determine scope of new design based on Engineering Change Request.

Job description

Your Tasks:

• Being a key driver in the mechanical design for the Tower.
• Define design space models for components and perform the geometrical integration of systems in the tower layout.
• Analyze the designs in collaboration with other departments inside Nordex and external suppliers.
• Support other departments to integrate different components and systems in the tower layout.
• Create the layout design considering geometrical requirements coming from Product Management, Engineering, Production, Logistics, Service and HSE.
• Identify synergies across projects and products to increase reuse of parts and decrease complexity and cost.
• Determine the scope of new design based on Engineering Change Request.

Your Profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Deep knowledge in CAD and PLM tools, PTC Creo/Windchill or Siemens NX/Teamcenter.
• Comfortable in handling large assemblies - Experience in the field of configuration management and modularisation.
• Extroverted personality and able to bring people together.
• Result-oriented and having a deadline focus.
• Is a self-starter.
