Qualifications

• 15–20+ years of experience in structural design consultancy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience in high-rise buildings, commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
• Strong understanding of international design codes (ACI, BS, Eurocode, IBC) and UAE authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Structural Design department across multiple projects.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective structural design solutions.
• Manage project planning, resource allocation, quality control, and timely project delivery.
• Review and approve structural calculations, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

A leading Dubai-based architectural and engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Director – Structural Design to lead its structural engineering division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering complex building projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and driving technical excellence from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Structural Design department across multiple projects.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective structural design solutions for high‑rise, commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed‑use, and institutional projects.
• Manage project planning, resource allocation, quality control, and timely project delivery.
• Review and approve structural calculations, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, international design codes, and industry best practices.
• Mentor and develop structural engineering teams.
• Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and business development initiatives.
• Support proposal preparation, project bidding, and strategic planning.

Desired Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 15–20+ years of experience in structural design consultancy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience in high‑rise buildings, commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed‑use developments.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, CSI software, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit/BIM is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of international design codes (ACI, BS, Eurocode, IBC) and UAE authority requirements.
• Proven leadership, project management, client‑facing, and business development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred

• UAE/GCC consultancy experience.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary design teams.
