Job summary

Novateur Electrical & Digital Systems is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Switchgear) with hands-on electrical design experience for LV/MV switchgear products. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and developing electrical drawings and design documentation in line with project requirements.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with switchgear design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and capable of developing electrical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV switchgear and electrical circuits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical design drawings for LV/MV switchgear and electrical panels.
• Develop GA drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, control circuit diagrams, and BOMs.
• Prepare and modify drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality, Project, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of designs.
• Review customer/project specifications and convert requirements into suitable electrical designs.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant IEC standards and internal design standards.
• Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
• Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing and testing.
• Maintain and update engineering drawings, design documents, and technical records.
• Support design improvement, cost optimisation, standardisation, and product development initiatives.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer Switchgear with hands-on experience in electrical design and a good understanding of LV/MV switchgear products. The candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and capable of developing electrical drawings and design documentation as per project and product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical design drawings for LV/MV switchgear and electrical panels.


• Develop GA drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, control circuit diagrams, and BOMs.


• Prepare and modify drawings using AutoCAD.


• Understand switchgear components such as ACB, MCCB, MCB, contactors, relays, busbars, CTs, and protection devices.


• Coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality, Project, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of designs.


• Review customer/project specifications and convert requirements into suitable electrical designs.


• Ensure designs comply with relevant IEC standards and internal design standards.


• Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.


• Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing and testing.


• Maintain and update engineering drawings, design documents, and technical records.


• Support design improvement, cost optimisation, standardisation, and product development initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LV Switchgear


• Good understanding of electrical circuits and switchgear components.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD.


• Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuits.


• Good understanding of BOM preparation and engineering documentation.


• Ability to interpret technical specifications and electrical drawings.


• Good coordination and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.


• Candidates with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with relevant switchgear design experience may also be considered.

Preferred Experience

Experience in the design of ACB/MCCB panels, distribution boards, motor control centres (MCC), PCCs, control panels, or other LV/MV switchgear products will be preferred.
