Siemens is looking for a seasoned professional with over 8 years in Product Development of LV Switchgear, based in Thane, Maharashtra. The role requires collaboration with product managers, project managers, and engineers to drive product design and development, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and extensive knowledge of customer applications for Switchgear products. Proficiency in mechanical design software and data management is essential.

• Experience handling development projects for local or global market.
• Understanding of various Manufacturing Technologies and industrial raw material selection.

Responsibilities

• Drive and execute the development of competitive products and solutions.
• Coordinate with the product design team to create product documentation.
• Ensure timely availability of product documentation in relevant systems/tools.

Experience

8+ years of experience in Product Development of LV Switchgear – Power Distribution.

Product design and development preferably ACBs, MCCBs.

Experience handling development projects for local market or global market.

Understanding of various Manufacturing Technologies and industrial raw material selection and usage.

Understanding of relevant product standards such as IEC60947 and awareness of ISO9001 systems.

Role & Responsibility

• Responsible for driving and executing the development of competitive products and solutions.
• Extending existing products to suit new specific applications by product development.
• Co-ordination with the product design team to create the product documentation.
• Checking for conformance with applicable standards and relevant guidelines.
• Ensuring timely availability of product documentation in relevant systems/tools (e.g., Teamcenter).
• Selecting standard components, raw materials (metal and plastic), surface coatings appropriate for product requirements.
• Dimensioning parts and assemblies with tolerance analysis for product functions.
• Creating product structures for variants, including documentation.
• Analyzing localization requirements and designing/adapting parts and products accordingly.
• Collaborating with product managers, project managers, test engineers, process planners, manufacturing, logistics, quality assurance, purchasing, commercial, and customer service.
• Planning, coordinating, and tracking activities in one's area of technical responsibility.
• Generating and driving DTC measures to produce cost‑competitive products and accessories.

Other Skills, Knowledge & Experience (Preferred)

• Knowledge of customer applications for Switchgear products (e.g., ACB, MCCB, SDF).
• Knowledge of relevant product standards.
• Documentation skills as per ISO 9001.
• Inter‑personal skills for effective cross‑functional teamwork.
• Knowledge of the product development process.
• Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies.
• Analysis of electro‑thermal and electro‑magnetic aspects is an added advantage.

Software Skills Needed (Hands‑on experience)

• Mechanical design software (e.g., NX, Pro‑E/Creo).
• Data management using Teamcenter.
