Role and responsibilities
- Responsible for Development of new products/parts (Metal – Auto components)
- Understanding the needs of customers and incorporating them into product design
- Managing product design & development workload
- Customer query handling and technical meetings related to new product design/development
- Monitoring and recording quality, cost, and delivery time of each new project
- Daily/weekly work planning for the project being handled
- New product technical feasibility study, DFMEA, design review, DVP, etc.
- Project documentation as per QMS & knowledge of APQP process
- Generating new product ideas/innovative products
- Product feature standardization
- Competition product benchmarking analysis/line walk/tier down
- RFQ hit rate improvement
- CAD data management
- Regional customer audit support
- Visiting customers to resolve technical glitches if needed
- Design & development of new products/parts
- Knowledge of sheet‑metal clip parts design & development
- Knowledge of raw materials – spring steel, stainless steel, aluminum & other grades
- Knowledge of heat treatment processes and surface coating
- Facilitating new product feasibility study
- Maintaining data for lessons learned
- Good analytical skill for problem‑solving
- Participating in the implementation of internal tests (e.g., load tests)
Education and experience
- BE Mechanical with 7 to 8 years of experience in sheet‑metal part design
- Diploma Mechanical with more years of experience
- Knowledge of sheet‑metal raw materials and processes
- Must have knowledge about CREO 6.0
