Job summary

Gradiant is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer in Tamil Nadu, India, to lead piping design for water treatment plants. You will develop both conceptual and detailed drawings, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with global piping standards.

The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and Navis Manager, and strong English communication skills. Office-based position in Coimbatore with collaboration across vendors and clients.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical or Diploma in mechanical engineering with 5–7 years of piping experience.
• Experience with piping specifications, valves, instruments, vessels and other mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit and Autodesk Navis Manager.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide conceptual and detailed design drawings for water treatment plant piping.
• Review 3D models and approve drawings from third-party design companies.
• Coordinate with inter-discipline, vendors, and clients to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Develop 3D models with clash-free coordination across disciplines.

• Must be capable of providing conceptual as well as detailed design drawings of water treatment plant piping.


• Requires experience with specification of piping, piping components valves, instruments, vessels, and other mechanical equipment.


• Creating Piping Routing in AutoCAD Plant 3D with respect to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and optimizing the Skids & Plant piping.


• Develop 3D Models and ensure clash-free models in coordination with all other discipline requirements.


• Preparation of Equipment layout, Skid piping GA, 2D piping layout, Isometrics, MTOs, pipe support drawings, Pipe rack design input and Civil and vendor drawing reviews.


• Should have experience with piping design standards with ANSI/IS/ASME piping specifications and layouts for water treatment plants. Must be familiar with relevant design & ASME, IS, DIN and BS codes.


• Confirm compliance with customer specifications for equipment and material types.


• Review and approve 3D model, drawings and documents from 3rd party design companies.


• Good communication skills in the English language with the ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written correspondence are essential.


• Coordination with inter discipline, Vendor and clientsEnsuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities etc.


• Collaborate with Mechanical design manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours.Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met.


• Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all piping designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety.

Requirements :
