Job summary

Gradiant is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer in Coimbatore, India, to perform piping design, review isometrics, BOMs, and shop drawings for projects in water treatment and related industries. The role requires 3-5 years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of piping systems and 3D design tools.

The candidate will lead 3D model creation, ensure design quality, coordinate with vendors and cross-discipline teams, and produce technical specifications and procurement support.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years’ experience for Senior Piping Engineer.
• Piping knowledge and AutoCAD Plant 3D / Revit / Autodesk Navis Manager software.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out various piping activities and preparation of deliverables as identified in the Functional Competencies for the assigned project.
• Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities etc.
• Lead 3D Model preparation for piping and coordination with all other discipline requirements.
• Review / Produce 2D piping layout, isometrics, MTOs, bill of material, pipe support drawings, pipe rack design input, and vendor drawing reviews.
• Produce optimum pipe routing based on project requirement and complete the piping plan, isometric and BOM in working with Draftsman / Designers.
• Prepare shop drawings for fabrication of piping.
• Coordinate with inter discipline, Vendor and clients.
• Prepare technical specifications for Valves, PSVs, Piping components, etc. and work with vendors to procure the required components.
• Review and approve drawings and documents from Vendors.
• Collaborate with Technical project manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours.
• Participate in project meetings, lead design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all Electrical designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.

• Carrying out various piping activities and preparation of deliverables as identified in the Functional Competencies as necessary on their assigned project.

• Adhering to company’s engineering procedures for design safety and adopting safe attitudes towards engineering design and raising features affecting the safety and integrity of the project with appropriate authorities.
• Lead 3D Model preparation for piping and coordination with all other discipline requirements.
• Review / Produce 2D piping layout, isometrics, MTOs, bill of material, pipe support drawings, Pipe rack design input, and vendor drawing reviews.
• Produce optimum pipe routing based on the project requirement and complete the piping plan, isometric and BOM in working with Draftsman / Designers.
• Should be familiar with the preparation of shop drawings for fabrication of piping.
• Must be familiar with relevant design & ASME, IS, DIN, and BS codes.
• Coordination with inter discipline, Vendor and clients
• Preparing technical documents such as Tie-in schedule, Line List, Valve List, Data sheets.
• Specification and Procurement / RFQ: Prepare technical specifications for Valves, PSVs, Piping components, etc. and work with vendors to procure the required components. Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on technical and budgetary considerations.
• Confirm compliance with customer specifications for equipment and material types;
• Review and approve drawings and documents from Vendors.
• Collaborate with Technical project manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours.
• Participate in project meetings, lead design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all Electrical designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety.
