Job summary

Flex is seeking a Senior Engineer – Planning to join the Sriperumbudur team. The role focuses on materials planning, master scheduling, and supporting ongoing production with timely material status and effective coordination with buyers and suppliers.

The candidate will analyze data from CFT, manage shortages and excess inventory, and ensure alignment with customer schedules while applying lean supply chain principles. 8+ years of relevant experience and a BE/B.Tech degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Master Scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).
• Familiarity with BOMs and product structures.
• Understanding of Lean Supply Chain principles.
• Experience with Kinaxis or similar supply chain planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise and support to the Customer Focus Team (CFT).
• Manage materials planning for specific projects to meet customer schedules.
• Provide timely materials status using shortage reports.
• Submit Excess and Obsolete Inventory to the customer and manage work orders.
• Support NPI accounts with fast service and clear communication of business interests.
• Analyze data from CFT and share clean data with planners within timelines.
• Monitor inventory vs. goals and coordinate with buyers on shortages and excess mitigation.
• Coordinate with external suppliers to expedite materials in line with MRP and support buyers.
• Assist planners in generating master production schedules and clear to build reports.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add Senior Engineer – Planning located in Sriperumbudur.

What a typical day looks like:

• Responsible for providing expertise and support to the Customer Focus Team (CFT)
• Ensuring the ability of the materials planning for a specific project or projects as required providing materials support to the weekly production planned orders and enables to achieve Kit on time drop to meet Customer Schedule.
• Key assignments include providing timely Materials status through use of available Shortage reports,
• Submission of Excess and Obsolete Inventory to the Customer, Work Order Management, inventory management, MRB and DR Management to achieve the operating goals.
• Senior Materials Planners for New Emerging NPI Accounts to provide faster service to the NPI Customer to effectively communicate with the customer protecting Business interest of Flex.
• Collate the data based on the input received from CFT, do first level of analysis and share the clean data back to the planner as per agreed timelines.
• Monitor Inventory levels vs. goals, Shortage reports with detailed comments – CTB; Excess Mitigation with Buyers. Prepare the analysis for excess mitigation with the site buyer.
• Schedule and coordinate status of materials within or with the external suppliers to expedite materials in conjunction with the MRP, providing support and expertise to the Buyers as required.
• Review and assist the planner in generating the master production schedules, running Kinaxis can do simulation. Work orders and prepare Clear to Build Report based on the availability of the materials.
• Ensure all materials procedures are adhered to by the Planner.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Preferably Engineer (BE/B.Tech) with 8+ years of similar experience.
• Must be able to analyze supply chain for demand pull in or push out.
• Knowledge of BOMs and product structure.
• Experience in Master Scheduling
• Knowledge of Materials Requirement Planning.
• Knowledge of Lean Supply Chain.
• Advanced Excel with Intermediate Power Point.
