Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, seeks an experienced Indirect Purchasing Buyer – Sr. Engineer to manage indirect materials procurement for plant operations.

You will source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings while ensuring timely supply. Collaboration with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and Finance teams is essential to release POs, conduct supplier evaluations, and optimize procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8–10 years of indirect procurement experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, cutting tools, machining consumables, MRO items, utilities, and supplier management.
• Excellent negotiation, cost analysis, and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle) and MS Office.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of indirect materials and services for plant operations.
• Source and negotiate suppliers for cutting tools, tooling, MRO items, consumables, packaging, utilities, safety items, office supplies, and facility-related purchases.
• Ensure timely availability of materials while achieving cost savings, quality, and delivery targets.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, conduct supplier evaluations, and support vendor development initiatives.
• Obtain quotations, compare offers, negotiate, and release purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and inventory levels to avoid production disruptions.
• Support contract management, freight and logistics procurement, and service agreements.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and Finance teams for procurement requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process efficiency projects.

Job Overview
