Job Description Summary
High Voltage Engineer responsible for design and development of electrical hardware for high‑frequency high voltage generators used in X‑ray generation applications. Reports to the XGEN Electrical Engineering Manager at GEBEL, Bangalore.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high‑frequency high voltage generators for X‑ray applications.
- Collaborate with hardware and software experts to generate and evaluate high voltage engineering concepts.
- Deliver independent product designs and lead design changes and value engineering initiatives for X‑ray generators.
- Own assigned projects, work with project teams to meet deliverables and ensure compliance with GE HealthCare Quality Management System.
- Participate in integration, testing, verification and design transfer of new designs or design changes.
- Engage with varied projects such as advanced technology development, new product introduction, design transfer, design changes/improvements, value engineering, and reliability projects.
- Execute assignments aligned with business priorities.
Qualifications
- ME/MTech in High Voltage Engineering; PhD desirable.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience designing high‑voltage generation circuits (high‑voltage multiplier/voltage doubler).
- Experience in high‑voltage insulation design and packaging.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical field‑stress simulations and analysis using FEM tools such as ANSYS, CST, MAXWELL.
- Knowledge of PWA design principles and component selection guidelines for high‑voltage applications.
- Skilled in high‑voltage measurement techniques; conduct high‑voltage stress testing, parameter margin testing, and troubleshoot high‑voltage circuits in X‑ray generators and tubes.
- Knowledge of HV cables, HV connectors, and enclosures for HV systems.
- Analytical troubleshooting of existing systems and monitoring equipment.
- Knowledge of engineering change management processes.
- Desired: understanding of power converters (buck, boost, buck‑boost, fly‑back, forward, etc.), resonant circuits and resonant power converters, high‑voltage multiplier/voltage doubler circuits.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, problem‑solving ability, documentation, planning, and project management skills.
