Job summary

Amor Management Consultants seeks an experienced Fixture Maintenance Engineer to oversee aerospace fixture upkeep for CNC milling operations. The role emphasizes accuracy, repeatability, and reliability while minimizing downtime and ensuring AS9100 compliance.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, fixture documentation, inspections with CMM and gauges, and supporting prove-out and first-off inspections. Strong GD&T and drawing-reading skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service all production fixtures used in CNC machining.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of fixtures.
• Maintain fixture history, maintenance records, and service schedules.
• Ensure fixture availability for production as per planning.
• Inspect fixture accuracy using CMM, height gauge, dial indicators, test mandrels, and precision measuring instruments.
• Verify locating pins, bushings, datums, clamping force, and repeatability.
• Restore fixture accuracy after repair.
• Ensure fixture capability meets drawing and GD&T requirements; investigate machining issues related to fixture performance.
• Resolve part movement, chatter, vibration, poor repeatability, deformation, and datum shift.
• Support production during prove-out and first-off inspections.
• Maintain fixture drawings, BOMs, maintenance checklists, and calibration records.
• Prepare preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown reports.
• Ensure document control in accordance with AS9100 requirements.

To ensure all production fixtures, work holding devices, and tooling are maintained in optimum condition, delivering high accuracy, repeatability, and reliability for aerospace component manufacturing while minimizing machine downtime and ensuring compliance with quality requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• The applicant should have knowledge & experience of various metal cutting processes like Turning, Milling, Drilling, boring, slitting etc.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling, turning, turn mill, and 5axis machining.
• Expertise in aerospace work holding systems.
• Knowledge of locating principles (321), GD&T, datum control, and tolerance stack up.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and fixture assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical clamping systems.
• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment and CMM inspection.
• Root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA.

Basic CAD knowledge (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or CATIA) is preferred.
