Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Fixture Design Engineer in India to design, develop, and implement safe, cost-effective fixtures for all manufacturing stages. You will perform root-cause analysis, drive process improvements, and create accurate drawings and BOMs using ECN processes.

The role requires strong DFMA knowledge, CAD/PLM proficiency (UG NX/Creo), and hands-on experience with manufacturing assemblies and risk management. Collaboration with global teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Design, development, and validation of fixtures for lifting, handling, transportation, testing of large assemblies.
  • Structured problem-solving and DFMA to optimize manufacturability.
  • Experience with CAD/PLM tools and engineering change processes.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement safe, cost-effective fixtures for all manufacturing phases.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for fixture failures.
  • Suggest equipment/process changes to reduce cost or improve operations.
  • Create drawings and BOMs using ECR/ECN processes.
  • Collaborate with global manufacturing engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Respond promptly to production issues during builds.
  • Lead or participate in Design Reviews with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and product groups in early design stages.
  • Work with manufacturing to resolve problems in collaboration with product teams.

Job description

Fixture Design Engineer.

Educational qualification:

Masters degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Or

Bachelor’s in degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with 4-7 years of relevant experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • You will be designing, developing, and implementing safe and cost-effective complex equipment (fixtures, outriggers, jigs, test equipment) for all phases of manufacturing.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective action for any fixture failures during the build process.
  • Suggest equipment, process changes leading to cost reduction or operation enhancement.
  • Create and release engineering drawings & bill of materials using Engineering Change Management pro765cess.
  • Interact with global manufacturing engineers on a regular basis.
  • Provide immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the build process.
  • Conduct & Participate in Design Review to gain consensus from the cross functional teams.
  • Interface with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand the requirements in the early design stage.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and product group for problem report resolution.
Mandatory skills required
  • Design, development, and validation of Simple-medium complexity fixtures used for lifting, handling, transportation, testing of large assemblies/products using OEM components like leadscrews, LM guideways, motors, bearings etc.
  • Proficient in DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) with approach to structured problem-solving and decision-making
  • Proficient in CAD modeling applications such as UG NX, Creo and any of the PLM/PDM systems
  • Experience in Engineering Change Management Process
Desirable Skill:
  • Experience in assembling product in a manufacturing set-up
  • Knowledge of conducting DFMEA and Managing Risk
  • Knowledge on Semiconductor equipment and its assembly process
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) & presentation skill.
  • Proven customer interface skills, with ability to influence both internal and external customers in technical matters.
  • Exposure to machine automation and application of sensors would be an advantage.
