Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Design Engineer in India to handle comprehensive E&I engineering tasks for plant projects, including electrical load lists, transformer sizing, MCCs, VFDs, and I&C wiring. You will develop P&IDs, IO lists, loop diagrams, and DCS/PLC design while coordinating with vendors, purchasing, and customers.

Applicants should have BE/Btech in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering with 8-10 years of design experience, preferably in water and wastewater

Qualifications

• BE/Btech in Electrical & Instrumentation Engg (detailed engineering experience)
• Minimum 8-10 years of design engineering experience
• Preference for water & wastewater treatment domain

Responsibilities

• Prepare and approve Basic Electrical Engineering documents (Electrical Load List, Transformer Sizing, etc.)
• Prepare Key SLDs; understand MCC/HT control schematic, control panels, VFD GA/Schematic drawings
• Incorporate interlocks, alarms for electrical equipment (Transformers, VFDs, MCCs, LCP, LCS)
• Prepare sizing calculations for cables, lighting, earthing
• Review layouts (cable tray, earthing, lighting, equipment layout)
• Prepare electrical equipment installation diagrams, cable routing, MCC room layouts
• Create Power and control cable schedules; issue indents for equipment
• Review vendor documents and coordinate with Purchase for orders and clearances
• Prepare BOQ for electrical items
• Develop I&C portions of P&IDs; attend P&ID reviews and HAZOPs
• Prepare IO lists, loop diagrams, control valve sizing and setpoint lists
• Knowledge of PLC/DCS and HMI architectures; select hardware
• Interface with suppliers for costing and submittal reviews
• Issue indents for I&C items; coordinate with Purchase for orders and manufacturing clearances
• Interface with customers on E&I designs and design documents
• Support commercial engineers and other engineers on tendering
• Support project execution; review control docs, drawings, manuals; assist commissioning
• Document lessons learned and feedback to E&I team
• Prepare documents for submissions/approvals

Job Description

Electrical Engineering:

• Preparation and approval of Basic Electrical Engineering documents such as Electrical Load List, Transformer Sizing ,etc.
• Preparation of Key SLD and understanding of the MCC /HT control schematic, control panel, VFD GA/Schematic drawings etc.
• Should be able to understand and incorporate / showing interlocks, Alarms, etc. For Electrical equipments (Transformers, VFDs, MCCs, LCP, LCS etc.).
• Preparation of Sizing calculation- Power cable, Lighting, Earthing Calculations etc.
• Review of Layouts- Cable tray, Earthing, Lighting ,Equipment layout etc.
• Preparation of Electrical equipment installation diagram, Cable routing, MCC room layouts drawings etc.
• Should be able to prepare Power and control cable schedules.
• Preparation & issue Indents for all Electrical equipment’s such as MCC, Transformer, cable, LCS/LCP/VFD, Cable tray, earthing Material, Cable gland /Lugs, Power JB etc.
• Should be able to review Vendor Documents i.e. Transformer, MCC, motor, cable tray, cable etc. and coordinate with Purchase Dept for Placement of Orders and release Manufacturing Clearances.
• Preparation of BOQ for all Electrical Items.

Instrumentation & Control Engineering:

1. Develop the I&C portion of P&ID’s. Attend P&ID review and HAZOP meetings with internal teams and customers.

2. Develop documents including IO Lists, Loop diagrams, Control Valve sizing Logic diagrams, Shutdown Keys, Logic Diagrams, Instrument Index, Setpoint Lists, DCS / PLC Design, Instrument Location and Installation Design.

3. Knowledge of control system architecture for PLC/DCS and HMI systems and select appropriate hardware as well as review the documents.

4. Interface with suppliers for preliminary costing, instrument component selection, and submittal document review.

5. Preparation & issue Indents for all I&C Items. Should be able to review Vendor Documents with Purchase Dept for Placement of Orders and release TC, validate POD and release Manufacturing Clearances.

General:

1. Interface with customers regarding E&I designs and submitted design documents.

2. Support commercial engineers, as well as to other engineers within the team to develop their technical and commercial expertise for tender purposes.

3. Support project execution through review of the control documents, engineering drawings, and manuals for projects. Support plant commissioning and performance testing.

4. Document lessons learned from issues during commissioning and provide feedback to E&I Engineering team and LPE.

5. Preparation of Documents for Submissions / resubmissions with CRS / approval from Client / Consultant.

Qualifications

• BE/Btech in Electrical & Instrumentation Engg with detailed engineering experience. (preferably in the field of water & waste water treatment).
• Minimum 8- 10 Years of Experience in Design engineering
