Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and exposure to UK project work.
- Experience in designing sustainable drainage systems, ponds/swales, flow control fixtures or structures, flood analyses, hazard identification and remedial aspects.
- Confidence to work independently with strong influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
- Develop drainage designs based on British/Regional Council standards.
- Proficiency in software applications such as Micro Drainage Water/Sewer GEMS, Storm CADD, Civil Storm, InfoWorks, Civil 3D storm sewer applications (preferably Civil 3D).
- Knowledge of BIM and digital applications to support automation and system improvement.
- Designing, evaluating, and hydraulic scheme for storm collection networks and disposal systems using software suitable for UK standards/processes.
- Identify and optimize alternatives to improve storm drainage schemes.
- Project set‑up, finance controls, and QMS protocol management.
- Produce CADD drawings and ensure error‑free submissions through reviews/markup.
- Conduct federated model analyses and clash resolutions.
- Work within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Lead a drainage team and manage project deliveries.
- Proactively lead projects and drive delivery independently.
- Undertake discussions with lead regions and GEC teams.
- Demonstrate technical command as an independent problem‑solver, involving:
- Risk assessments and mitigation recommendations.
- Program reviews/updating UK for refinements.
- Building relationships with lead regions and junior teammates.
- Enhancing team capability to attract new business.
- Achieving 100% quality through processes, training, and checklists.
- Sharing and transferring knowledge to the wider team.
- Implementing industry best practices on project delivery.
- Delegating tasks and assigning roles to team members to achieve objectives.
- Tracking safety and promoting a HS&W culture.
- Participating in Arcadis global initiatives such as Basecamp, Digital Initiatives, CSR, Arcadis Way, Task Manager Training, etc.
Qualifications & Experience
- Civil Engineering graduate with a post‑graduation degree (desirable) in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience developing sustainable drainage schemes within multi‑disciplinary environments for major infrastructure projects (airports, highways, rail networks, site developments across various land uses).
- Proven record of delivering drainage projects in the UK region.
- High recognition in the field and with clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Managed project deliveries independently from concept to construction stage.
- Experience with quality standards, Quality Management Protocols, and program timelines.
- Knowledge and application of relevant British Standards.
- Awareness of construction in drainage field and latest technologies, equipment, etc., for construction, maintenance, and management of proposed systems.
- Experience in risk assessment and mitigation measures.
- Proficient in design software such as Micro Drainage, InfoWorks, Storm Cad, 12D, or other relevant drainage design software.
- Familiarity with BIM software – Civil 3D and AutoCAD; InfraWorks and Navisworks are added advantages.
- Ability to produce software outputs and analyses.
- Development of drainage schemes in line with SHE aspects.
- Knowledge of flood mitigation measures.
- Strong liaison and communication skills to manage clients and project teams.
- Experience working under a Common Data Environment and digital/BIM applications in projects.
- Ability to guide, mentor, and support the team to enhance professional and personal strengths.
