- Bachelor's in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics Engineering; Master’s degree advantageous.
- 5–12 years proven experience in detailed design and consultancy of control systems.
- Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand is a plus.
- Professional Membership & qualifications (CENG/PENG) desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end control system design and development from concept through FAT support.
- Architect, design, and program PLC and SCADA systems with focus on Rockwell and Schneider platforms.
- Collaborate with onshore teams and multidisciplinary engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Produce and review high-quality engineering documentation: functional specs, control philosophies, I/O lists, network architectures, FAT procedures.
- Provide remote FAT support, ensuring design intent and quality standards.
- Act as client interface; lead technical discussions, gather requirements, present solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Contribute to standards, templates, and best practices.
- Support commissioning teams remotely as required.

WSP India is seeking a highly experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our offshore delivery team in the GCC, supporting major infrastructure and industrial automation projects across Australia. This role is suited to a seasoned engineer with strong technical depth and proven delivery capability across PLC/SCADA systems. You will play a key role in driving high-quality design outcomes, supporting FAT activities, and acting as a confident interface between offshore delivery teams, onshore leads, and clients. The position will be for Mumbai/ Bangalore location.
The Senior Control System Engineer shall have experience mainly in Detailed Design Engineering, Design Review and Consultancy. Experience in Bulk Material Handling, Crushers, Grinding Mills. Experience in Power Plant, Coal Grinding, Cement industry will be an added advantage and will be responsible for the following minimum services:
- Lead end-to-end control system design and development, from concept through to FAT support.
- Architect, design, and program PLC and SCADA systems, with a strong focus on Rockwell and Schneider platforms.
- Collaborate closely with onshore teams and multidisciplinary engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Produce and review high-quality engineering documentation, including:
- Functional specifications
- Control philosophies
- I/O lists
- Network architectures
- FAT procedures
- Provide remote support for FAT execution, ensuring systems meet design intent and quality standards.
- Act as a key client interface, confidently leading technical discussions, gathering requirements, and presenting solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Contribute to development of standards, templates, and best practices.
- Support commissioning teams remotely as required.
- Advanced experience with:
- Rockwell PLC platforms (RSLogix / Studio 5000)
- Schneider PLC platforms (Unity Pro / EcoStruxure)
- SCADA systems (Citect, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware)
- Strong track record in control system design, architecture, and documentation delivery
- Solid understanding of:
- OT network design and architectures
- Industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
- Experience applying IEC 61131-3 programming standards and structured programming practices.
- Electrical design capabilities (schematics, panel design, power systems) are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence in direct client interaction.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across global teams.
- A bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics Engineering is essential. A master’s degree in Control System Engineering is certainly advantageous.
- At least 5 to 12 Years proven industry experience in detailed design and consultancy of control systems.
- Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.
- Professional Membership & qualifications CENG/PENG of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
