Job summary

dunnhumby is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to extend and improve our Data Science Platform. The BI squad integrates our BI platform into the Data Science Platform, products, and internal workflows.

You will work with passionate people to build, extend, and maintain the BI platform that underpins client engagements and internal reporting, with opportunities to move between products and technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SQL, database modelling, semantic layers, and data visualization.
• Experience with BI tools (Looker preferred).
• Experience with cloud technologies (GCP & Azure).
• Solid understanding of high-quality coding, testing, and development practices.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who expects more from their career. It's a chance to extend and improve dunnhumby's Data Science Platform. The Business Intelligence (BI) squad is responsible for integrating our BI platform into our Data Science Platform, products, and internal workflows.

Joining our engineering team, you'll work with passionate people to build, extend, and maintain our BI platform that will underpin all our client engagements and internal reporting. Our work is varied, giving you the flexibility to move between products and technologies, so natural curiosity is essential. As a team we're friendly, will help you get up to speed, and offer you plenty of opportunities to innovate.

What we expect from you

• 5+ years of experience in SQL, database modelling, semantic layers, and data visualization
• Experience working with Business Intelligence tools(Looker preferred)
• Experience working with cloud technologies (GCP & Azure)
• Solid understanding of high-quality coding, testing, and development practices

Preferable skills:

• Familiarity with technical architecture paradigms like microservices or event-driven
• Experience with programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Familiarity with AI concepts like the Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI agents, and prompt engineering
• Monitoring & Observability
