Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC is seeking a BESS Service Engineer to support commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of Battery Energy Storage Systems. The role involves coordination with EPC contractors, OEMs, and customers to ensure maximum system availability and safety.

Responsibilities include pre-commissioning checks, site tests, fault diagnostics, and on-site/off-site monitoring of performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering background.
• Experience in BESS or similar energy storage systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support installation and commissioning of BESS projects.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and site acceptance tests.
• Verify battery racks, PCS, transformers, switchgear, EMS, and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and customers during commissioning.
• Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance activities.
• Check battery health parameters including cell voltage, string voltage, SOC, SOH, temperature, insulation resistance.
• Inspect HVAC, fire protection, and safety systems.
• Prepare maintenance reports and service documentation.
• Diagnose faults in battery packs, BMS, PCS/inverter, EMS, SCADA, MV/LV switchgear, and transformer systems.
• Analyze alarms and event logs; coordinate with OEM teams for complex issues.
• Monitor plant performance remotely and on site; evaluate efficiency and RTE.
• Suggest corrective and optimization measures.
• Follow electrical safety standards and LOTO procedures; ensure compliance with local regulations.

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor plant performance remotely and on site.
• Evaluate system efficiency and Round Trip Efficiency (RTE).
• Recommend corrective and optimization measures.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow electrical safety standards and LOTO procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and OEM guidelines.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety audits.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis (RCA).

Customer Support

• Provide technical support to customers.
• Participate in warranty claim assessment.
• Conduct training for customer O&M teams.
• Ensure SLAs and response times are met.

Required Qualifications

Experience

3-8 years of experience in: Same BESS /Similar industries.
