Job summary

Hirewand in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Connectivity Frameworks team. You will design and implement Bluetooth profiles and OS framework components enabling messaging, calling, and notifications between wearables and companion devices.

The role covers HFP, MAP, PBAP, and ANCS, with opportunities to optimize interfaces, support VoLTE/VoNR, and enhance logging and CI coverage. A strong background in C/C++, Java, and Kotlin is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems or mobile software development.
• Experience with Bluetooth stack and frameworks on Android or iOS.
• Understanding Bluetooth profiles (HFP, MAP, PBAP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Bluetooth profile implementations (HFP, MAP, PBAP, ANCS).
• Build and optimize interfaces for Bluetooth profiles used by wearables and mobile devices.
• Contribute to calling features via HFP and cellular integration (VoLTE/VoNR).
• Develop messaging and notification support, including internet relay for notifications.
• Improve logging, telemetry, and tooling for field debuggability; write robust, well-tested code with CI.
• Participate in on-call rotations and triage production issues.
