Job summary

Arcadis is a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, seeking a civil/transportation design engineer with 6+ years of experience for highway design work. You will use Open Roads Designer and related tools to deliver detailed designs, drawings, and reports, while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires strong knowledge of DMRB/AASHTO/Euro codes, excellent English communication, and a proactive, organized approach. International project exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Civil Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) or MTech in Civil/Transportation.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in a Design Consulting Environment.
• Strong understanding of DMRB/AASHTO codes.
• Proficiency with Open Roads Designer; knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Infraworks, Navisworks is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; technical report writing.
• Organized and proactive (self-starter).

Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of smaller/less complex tasks within highway design.
• Lead end-to-end design and delivery for Highway design tasks.
• Prepare and finalize highway drawings at various stages.
• Compute quantities and prepare design reports.
• Understand existing condition reports and surveys.
• Coach and mentor team members; lead and design projects.
• Experience leading at least one overseas design project (UK/US/CAN/EU/ME/AUS).

Role description

• Good understanding and Knowledge of international codes like DMRB, AASHTO, and Euro codes along with various other International Codal Practices and Standards, Design Standards of Local County Councils
• Highway Design experience using Open Roads Designer and good expertise in 3D modelling for proposals and Detail design projects.
• Roadway Design for various stages of Design-Build Projects – Detailed design of Roadway corridor, Detailed drawings, construction support drawings, Design Reviews, Project Management, and Design Management.
• Experience in MS Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Role accountabilities

• Responsible for managing technical aspects of smaller and/or less complex tasks or components of larger tasks, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health and safety objectives
• Responsible for end-to-end project design and delivery for Highway design-related tasks.
• Preparation / Finalization of various highway-related drawings at various stages of projects.
• Computation of quantities.
• Preparation of design reports.
• Ability to understand existing condition reports and surveys.
• Coaching and mentoring team members.
• Ability to lead and design projects.
• Should have handled a minimum of 1 Design projects-overseas preferably for the UK/US/CAN/EU/ME/AUS in the Infrastructure Business.
• Software: Navisworks, Infraworks, Open Roads
• Excellent Soft Skills related to People Management (desirable)
• Strong mentoring Skills – Ability to build teams (desirable)

• Education - Graduation - B.Tech/B.E. – Civil or Post Graduation - MTech – Civil/Transportation. Minimum 6+ years of experience in a Design Consulting Environment
• Strong understanding of DMRB/AASHTO codes
• Software – Open Roads Designer. All others like Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Infraworks and Navisworks would be added advantages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), including technical report writing.
• Organized and proactive (self-starter).
