Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead rail civil design projects in Hyderabad, covering stations, bridges, and related infrastructure. You will work across concept, optioneering, detailing, and construction support with BIM tools and UK standards in mind.

You will guide junior team members, ensure design quality, and coordinate with multiple disciplines. A background in BIM environments and railway design is required, with 5–8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Post-Graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in designing stations and rail infrastructure including bridges.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and manage minor rail civil projects from concept to construction.
• Lead design stages: conceptualisation, optioneering, detailing, and construction support.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure safe design and resolution of straightforward issues.
• Undertake designs and modelling work.
• Ensure quality through verification and checking of design submittals.
• Manage programme timelines, budget, and H&S for all projects.
• Develop effective working relationships with other disciplines and senior colleagues in GEC and UK.

Role description:

• Work independently and manage minor projects primarily on rail Civil/ Station schemes and allied Civil works.
• Involving in all the stages of Civil designs starting from Conceptualisation, Optioneering, Detail engineering and till the construction stage support covering rail Infrastructure. Remedial and assessment works of Rails.
• Guiding junior members of team in fulfilling the safe design and resolving straightforward issues related to design.
• Undertake designs, modelling works.
• Ensure Quality through necessary verification, checking of design submittals.
• Manage programme timelines, budget, and H&S for all the projects.
• Develop effective working relationships with other disciplines and senior colleagues in GEC and UK, as necessary.

Role accountabilities:

• Bear confidence to work independently with good influencing/motivating, delegating skills.
• Excellent Communication both written, verbal
• Fair Knowledge of UK design standards, application processes
• Have a thorough knowledge on Software Application like STAAD, MIDAS, LUSAS, ROBOT, (preferably exposure in BIM environment) and transfer knowledge with wider team
• Thorough Knowledge of BIM, digital application and shall support/assist in automations and system improvement.
• Designing, Evaluating Railways over and under bridges, Station schemes including lift shafts, platform works, footbridge etc. using software and should be able to validate through alternative means, if necessary, by applying basic principles. Assessment of structures and bridges and proposing remedial measures.
• Should have exposure to design Sustainable platform options in extension works, track gauging, footbridge, lift shafts and assessments and remedial aspects,
• CADD application, Drawing productions, Reviews

Qualifications & Experience:

• Post-Graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering
• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in designing stations and Rail infrastructure including bridges.
