Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Engineer to design, deploy and troubleshoot Data Center networks, specializing in EVPN-VXLAN spine-leaf topologies. You will analyze complex configurations, drive root-cause analysis and coordinate with Juniper SEs, engineering and JTAC to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant network experience, including large-scale Data Center environments.
• Experience with EVPN-VXLAN, spine-leaf architectures and BGP EVPN/VXLAN implementations.
• Strong knowledge of underlay/overlay networking and data center interconnect considerations.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Customer on Data Center architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across QFX, EVPN-VXLAN, BGP, routing, switching, and Data Center fabrics.
• Analyze configurations, logs, traffic flows, and network behavior to identify root cause and provide corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on spine-leaf architectures, EVPN-VXLAN, underlay/overlay networks, DCI, and network resiliency.
• Work with Juniper SE, Engineering, Product Management, and JTAC to resolve complex technical issues and drive customer requirements.
• Validate designs, MOPs, software releases, and new features in lab environments before production deployment.
• Support Data Center migrations, upgrades, fabric expansion, and implementation activities.
• Conduct technical workshops and provide best-practice recommendations for network optimization and operational improvements.
• Maintain network design and operational documentation and provide proactive guidance on software, security, and lifecycle considerations.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved network performance/reliability.

What you'll do:

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant network experience, including large-scale Data Center environments. Typically, 8-12 years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of EVPN-VXLAN and Data Center spine-leaf architectures, including:
  • BGP EVPN and VXLAN
  • L2/L3 VNI and IRB
  • Anycast Gateway
  • ESI multihoming / MC-LAG
  • Underlay/overlay networking
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, VLAN, LACP, Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, and routing policies.
• Experience troubleshooting complex Data Center production networks and performing RCA.
• Experience with Data Center migration, upgrades, and fabric deployments.
• Knowledge of Data Center Interconnect (DCI) is highly desirable.
