Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager in its Professional Services team in India. You will lead large-scale cloud engagements, coordinating technical consultants, customers, and partners to deliver tangible business outcomes aligned with cloud adoption strategies.

You will drive end-to-end delivery, build executive relationships, and shepherd initiatives from discovery through implementation, while mentoring junior managers and refining delivery practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leading multiple Agile teams concurrently or at scale (from Basic Qualifications).
• 7+ years of leading and delivering enterprise-level IT engagements (from Basic Qualifications).
• Knowledge of the value proposition of the public cloud and cloud engagement delivery (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Experience leading multiple Agile teams (Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of large, multi-workstream cloud engagements by creating and maintaining comprehensive project plans, defining quality standards, and aligning AWS, customer, and partner resources to achieve agreed-upon business outcomes.
• Build and manage strategic customer relationships across technical and executive stakeholders, identifying risks, clearing blockers, and driving timely decisions to keep programs on track.
• Facilitate release planning, workshops, and discovery sessions using frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall, Well-Architected Framework, and Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Lead complex business and technical discussions, guide customers to expand their cloud adoption strategy, and negotiate scope and value.
• Establish reusable delivery mechanisms, best practices, and documentation standards, and mentor other engagement managers.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of large, multi-workstream cloud engagements by creating and maintaining comprehensive project plans, defining quality standards, and aligning AWS, customer, and partner resources to achieve agreed-upon business outcomes.
• Build and manage strategic customer relationships across technical and executive stakeholders, proactively identifying risks, clearing blockers, and driving timely decisions to keep programs on track — including redirecting distressed engagements toward successful delivery.
• Facilitate release planning, workshops, and discovery sessions using multiple delivery and cloud frameworks (such as Agile, Waterfall, Well-Architected Framework, and Cloud Adoption Framework) to translate customer strategy into executable roadmaps.
• Lead complex business and technical discussions, harmonize conflicting perspectives, and guide customers to define and expand on their cloud adoption strategy while identifying opportunities to maximize engagement value through scope and financial negotiations.
• Establish reusable delivery mechanisms, best practices, and documentation standards that improve quality and efficiency across engagements, and mentor fellow engagement managers to raise the overall team capability.

A day in the life

You start your morning reviewing program dashboards and preparing for a steering committee meeting with a customer's leadership team, where you present delivery progress and align on upcoming milestones. Mid-morning, you facilitate a cross-team planning session, helping architects and developers prioritize the next sprint. After lunch, you join a technical review to validate that a proposed solution meets the customer's business objectives, then spend time coaching a newer engagement manager on stakeholder communication. Your afternoon wraps with a pipeline discussion, where you help shape an upcoming pre-sales opportunity.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of delivering customer engagements in a professional services role experience
• active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)
• AWS certification
• Experience in delivering customer engagements in a professional services role
• Experience with Agile and project management toolsets like Jira, Rally, VersionOne or Taiga
• Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent
