Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India invites experienced engineers to join our Water Group, focusing on electrical design for water and wastewater facilities. You will contribute from concept through detailed engineering, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across offices to ensure compliance and quality.

The role requires 8–12 years of relevant experience, BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering, and strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA and US codes.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8-12 years of experience in industrial & municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA and U.S. local codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design and coordination.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including power distribution (low and medium voltage), emergency power system design, load calculations.
• One-line drawings, motor schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Design calculations of transformer, emergency generator, UPS, battery system, cable, and lighting system.
• Cable schedules, panel board schedules.
• Grounding plan, cable tray & power plan, duct bank plan, area classification plan, and lighting plan.
• Technical specifications and datasheets of major electrical equipment.
• Preparation of technical bid evaluation and vendor drawing reviews.
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across multiple Burns & McDonnell offices for project execution and standard compliance.
• Innovation and improvement in Electrical engineering design practices.
• Quality assurance, adherence to project schedule, and meeting client requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering

Experience :

Years of Experience: 8-12 years

Technical Skills Required:

• Experience in industrial & municipal water / wastewater treatment projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA and U.S. local codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Revit, and AutoCAD for electrical design and coordination.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Experience on U.S. based EPC or design-build projects preferred.
