Job summary

Bechtel in Gujarat, India seeks an Electrical Heat Tracing Senior Engineer with extensive EHT design experience on infrastructure, power and oil & gas projects. You will coordinate detailed design, ensure NEC/IEEE 515 compliance, and align EHT deliverables with project P&IDs and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership to supervise engineers and drafters, coordinate with clients and suppliers, and drive cost-effective, reliable heat tracing solutions across complex facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of overall experience in electrical engineering for EHT projects.
• Site experience is an added advantage.
• Exposure to Indian, US, Euro codes/standards and local practices.
• Ability to develop innovative ideas to reduce TIC.

Job Summary

• Electrical Heat Tracing Senior Engineer experienced on basic and detailed design and project co-ordination of EHT works on Infrastructure, Power, Oil and Gas and M&M projects. Within discipline develops Electrical Heat Tracing designs for complete and complex engineering systems and plant arrangements. Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices.

Supervision Received

• Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from Lead/Chief Engineer

Supervision Exercised

• Supervises and provides technical direction to subordinate engineers, specialists, designers and drafters as assigned.

Contact

• Maintains contacts with client representatives as directed, with suppliers, appropriate field personnel and other disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project or assignment and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements

• A recognized bachelors/masters degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of minimum 15 years.
• Site experience will be an added advantage.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Perform Electrical Heating system design for piping, instruments and equipment using heat tracing design programs. Performs necessary electrical calculations for cable sizing, heat tracing cables, panels circuit design and system design per NEC or other specified job standards.
• Understand and implement the zoning EHT circuits with appropriate power and control methodology.
• Ensures EHT Isometric designs are in line with the piping, P&ID, area classification & LDT information and being consistent with the project code and IEEE 515 requirements.
• Ensure power connection, RTD location, cable type and length, trace ratio, sheath temperature, heat loss and appropriate safety factor is applied for the EHT designs.
• Ensuring that the EHT design and tracking are up to date in EHT Access Database.
• Checks EHT deliverables such as EHT Isometrics, power and RTD cable schedules, Heat Trace panel and termination schedules, EHT controller set point schedule, MTOs.
• Ability to develop innovative ideas to reduce project total installed costs (TIC).
• Ability to present technical design issues to the customer and supplier and the ability to recommend solutions based on knowledge and experience.
