Job summary

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech (Electrical) or M.E./M.Tech in HV/Power Systems/Electrical Machines with 5+ years in electrical design of Power Transformers and Shunt Reactors.
• Domain expertise in Power Transformer and Shunt Reactor testing.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D CAD tools like Creo or MagNet (or similar) and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering tasks for Power Transformers and related components.
• Understand customer requirements during quotation and after project receipt.
• Follow engineering process to create designs and documents with cost awareness.
• Perform design verification using standards and customer requirements.
• Archive documentation for projects and manage ERP BOMs.
• Identify risks early and mitigate in concept phase with the Manager.
• Lead design reviews and align with manufacturing plans and ERP requirements.
• Visit customers for design reviews and clarifications; apply best practices.
• Apply 2D/3D FEM concepts for electrostatic/electromagnetic simulations (preferred).
• Prepare manufacturing documents for 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOM in ERP.
• Monitor projects to achieve KPIs; provide site/erection support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/BIS/DIN/ISO standards for electrical design.
• Lead training and mentoring of junior designers; support vendor development and RCA actions.

Design & Engineering Tasks

• Design & Engineering Tasks (Power Transformers)

• Follow engineering process to create order designs and documents, keeping project cost in mind while fully aligning with customer specifications.
• Perform design verification using engineering tools, standards, and customer requirements.
• Compile organize and archive documentation for assigned projects.
• Proactively identify risks and mitigate in solution concept stage in consultation with Manager.

• Perform Troubleshooting, analyzing failures, prepare and implement RCA actions.
• Provide technical support to SCM for vendor development and evaluation.
• Coaching of new designers and colleagues.

3. Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• B.E / B.Tech (Electrical) / M.E/M.Tech/M.S( High Voltage or Power System or Electrical Machines.) with 5 year or more years of industry experience in Electrical designing of Power Transformers and Shunt Reactors
• Overall understanding and domain expertise in Power Transformer and Shunt reactor testing
• Preferred to have knowledge and exposure to 2-D and 3-D CAD software packages like Creo/MagNet or similar.
• You have the interest and ability to work with cross competence topics.
