BorgWarner in Bengaluru, India seeks a senior electrical design engineer with deep expertise in automotive power electronics. You will technically lead a small team, guide 2-3 engineers, perform circuit design, simulations, and document deliverables across multiple regions.

You will interface with customers to resolve design queries, apply Six Sigma problem solving, and support manufacturing during pilot runs and ramp-up. Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC, DFSS, and automotive standards is expected.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical or Automotive Electronics.
• 10+ years’ experience in electronic circuit design.
• Strong knowledge of automotive ECUs and power electronics.

• Leading in design, development, and implementation of automotive electrical activities (according to the achievement plans) using approved engineering processes to meet customers’ requirements.
• Responsible for project deliverables and customer satisfaction – Schedule, Risks, Quality and Customer commitments.
• Training and guiding others on electrical design competency and act as a technical resource to them.
• Technically lead a team of 2-3 engineers including task allocation, mentoring, daily project execution.
• Evaluation and Component selection of Power devices, conduct schematic reviews, circuit simulations and in general, execute electrical team deliverables and documentation.
• Acting as a customer interface to resolve any design queries.
• Identify engineering quality and efficiency improvement opportunities and promote Continuous Improvement through problem solving techniques like Six Sigma.
• Providing technical support to manufacturing during pilot runs/tests production start-up period and existing products
• Meeting departmental Cost and Quality objectives
• Interact and work with various internal teams as per Product development life cycle
• Work closely with global counterparts, in meeting overall program needs
• Minimum 10 years’ experience of electronic circuit design.
• Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical or Automotive Electronics domain.
• Strong circuit and component knowledge in Automotive ECUs, Power Electronics domain and Si, SiC power modules.
• Experience in testing and debugging of power electronic circuits.
• Experience in automotive Control units and/or Inverter is preferred.
• Experience in planning/tracking project teams supporting multiple regions
• Knowledge on Mentor Expedition tool flow – DxDesigner, PCB Layout, DMS
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC for automotive standard, Product validation testing
• Knowledge on FMEA, Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and DFSS
• Experience in customer interaction and driving timely project deliverables.
• Exposure in Automotive standards and safety levels would be preferrable.
• Experience in EMC testing would be an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines when required.
