Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and maintain detailed Electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit and other relevant BIM software.
• Create accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, layouts, and construction documentation for electrical systems.
• Model electrical services including LV/MV systems, lighting, small power, containment, cable trays, conduits, earthing, lightning protection, and other electrical installations.
• Interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, schematics, and engineering requirements and translate them into coordinated BIM models.
• Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and other MEP disciplines.
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and/or other coordination platforms and resolve identified clashes in consultation with engineers and other disciplines.
• Prepare electrical layouts, sections, details, schedules, and other BIM deliverables as required.
• Ensure models and drawings comply with project BIM standards, BEP, naming conventions, Level of Development (LOD), and client requirements.
• Manage and maintain BIM models throughout different project stages, ensuring timely updates based on design revisions and site requirements.
• Assist Electrical Engineers and BIM Coordinators in developing design solutions and resolving technical coordination issues.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings, design review meetings, and clash resolution sessions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior BIM modelers and assist in allocating modelling tasks.
• Review the work of junior modelers to ensure compliance with project standards, accuracy, and quality requirements.
• Maintain proper model version control, drawing revisions, and document management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Expertise in BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, MEP) for advanced modelling.
• Ability to develop parametric families and follow Gulf region practices.
• Strong team coordination and leadership skills.
• Proven experience with independent system modelling.
