Job summary

JMT Consultants Detailing Private Limited – Noida is seeking an experienced Senior Editor to join our Steel Detailing team. You will create and edit erection drawings and shop drawings for steel structures, ensuring compliance with project requirements and client standards.

The role requires Tekla Structures proficiency, prior US commercial project exposure, and the ability to mentor junior editors while upholding our quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BTech in Mechanical or Civil.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in editing using Tekla structures.
• Experience in US Commercial Projects.
• Expertise in preparing erection drawings and shop drawings using Tekla Structure.
• Able to prepare erection & shops drawings according to customer specifications.
• Preference for candidates with Tekla, AISC, OSHA & CISC standards and those with US Commercial project experience.
• Good skills in reading design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit erection drawings to be used by the Erector to assemble the steel structure.
• Create and edit shop drawings to be used by the steel fabricator to assemble the steel members.
• Review project specifications and ensure detailing compliance.
• Review connection design drawings for weld requirements.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior editors.
• Maintain JMT detailing quality standards across project deliverables.
• Coordinate drawing revisions and incorporate client comments.
• Perform quality reviews of drawings to ensure compliance with project specs.
• Coordinate with production teams and project managers for smooth detailing execution.
• Implement corrections and continuous improvements from feedback.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Editor to join our Steel Detailing team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and edit erection drawings to be used by the Erector to assemble the steel structure.
• Create and edit shop drawings to be used by the steel fabricator to assemble the steel members
• Review and interpret project and client specifications, standards, and requirements to ensure compliance throughout the detailing process
• Review connection design drawings for weld requirements
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior editors to support skill development and quality improvement
• Ensure JMT detailing quality standards and drafting procedures are consistently maintained across all project deliverables
• Coordinate and manage drawing revisions to ensure all updates, client comments, and design changes are accurately incorporated within project timelines
• Perform quality reviews of erection drawings, shop drawings, and related deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications and company quality standards
• Coordinate with production teams, modelers, checkers, and project managers to ensure smooth execution of detailing and drawing activities
• Review feedback from checkers, project managers, and clients, and implement necessary corrections and continuous improvements in drawings and deliverables

Qualifications:

• Diploma/BTech in Mechanical or Civil
• Require approximately 2 years of experience in Editing using Tekla structures
• Require experience in US Commercial Projects
• Expertise in preparing Erection drawings and shop drawings using Tekla Structure
• Able to prepare Erection & shops drawings according to customer specifications
• Preference would be given to candidates with experience in Tekla, AISC, OSHA & CISC standards and those who worked extensively with US Commercial projects
• Having good skills in reading Design drawings
